Did he have the most underrated game in the grand final? Yes. If you watched Brisbane dominate Carlton through the midfield last week it was from getting a quick clearance out the front of the stoppage, surging it forward and scoring. They couldn't do that today because Mason kept bashing the ball to our side of the stoppages, preventing any forward momentum for Brisbane. Fagan even alluded to this in his press conference, but didn't mention Mason by name.

That was exceptionally smart play by Cox, thumping the ball clear on numerous occasions made a huge difference when the game was in the balance.

Surely the Darcy Cameron number 1 ruckmen experiment is dead now??? right?? surely.

Play Cox the ruckmen with Frampton giving him a chop out when he needs breaks

I remember calling my dad during a VFL game in 2016 where Mason kicked 3 in a quarter, telling him that tall American kid was gonna play in a Pies premiership one day.

Super happy for Mason. One of my all-time favorite Pies players to watch, still underrated and misunderstood to this day.

We do not win this flag without him. A Collingwood legend.

Hand up. In the early days I used to call big cox a spud (as a forward) . Since 2018 I’ve supported him. Today is payment for all the hard work he has put in, and the faith fly had.
He was never a spud! Never. He has been underutilized in the past and needed a coach who believed in him. No Cox-no flag. Simple.

He also needed other pieces to allow him to reach potential: he needed Grundy gone so he could play ruck and not forward, and he needed Cameron so that he didn't have to be "the man" for the entire game.

100% no Cox no flag, but I think Cameron has a role as well. I don't think it matters right now though, we just won the goddam flag!

He was so emotional after the game. Can see how much this means to him.

He’s been huge in the finals. Taking on more of the number one ruck. We really couldn’t have done it without him.

What a story his is. Shows anyone has hope to have a crack, no matter how late they’re introduced to this incredible sport.

Big ego, wants to do well in finals and walks the walk. I thought his last quarter was top quality.

Also I ****ing love that he sticks it up the man on the mark after kicking a goal.

Congratulations to the big guy. Has had a great knack of turning up when it mattered.
Ps. Has anyone footage of the bump, I'm OS at present and at 2nd glance actually looked as though he missed the head altogether? Will he be in strife if he did get him high?

Are you talking about when Gardiner tried to ram him with his head?

Gardiner should be mocked for being a ****wit. No case to answer.

Perhaps, Frampton played a few handy games in the ruck despite very rarely playing there. He could improve a lot over the offseason, while I see Darcy Cameron is the more finished product
The thing Frampton offers as a ruck over Cameron is that he can play out the whole game in ruck. It’s not really useful when you’re playing as the second ruck.

Also not sure how you come to the conclusion that Cameron is a finished product but Frampton can improve.

Frampton is a few years younger and hasn't spent the preseasons focusing on ruckwork like Cameron has. More scope for improvement

I am delirious with joy for Coxy. He is a premiership player. The legend is complete.
The legend of Coxzilla continues on and, if you liked this chapter, wait 'til you see what the sequel has to offer!

To see a fellow American help our favorite club to Premiership Glory is the most surreal experience I've had in the 40 years I've followed the Club.

You can be sure his story is not finished, by any stretch, and that he has more to accomplish before he hangs it up.

It's clear he has only entered his prime and has much more to give our Club.

For now, enjoy the experience of our big man who has found his niche and we are Champions all the more because of it.

Peace!
