Apparently, if you are some sort of ****ed up masochist, there will be an option to revert the handling of the Mako to how it was in the original ME 1 instead of the re-worked version.

Do you have EA Play Pro? Because it's included in that through Origin. I don't know if Origin is being depreciated though because there is an EA desktop app now as the Origin EA Play subscription is included with Game Pass so I don't know if Origin is being eventually depreciated.
edit: I haven't really been keeping up with it, but yes, EA Desktop is eventually replacing Origin

Not sure of what other versions there are, but the EA/Origin sub typically includes the special editions of games so maybe that's it. Since it says "start playing now" and "download" and your button says "pre-load", I'm going to download it now and see what happens.

Well that was a quick experiment. The "download" button I guess replaced the purchase button since I'm on the subscription. Now it says pre-load but it's the pro-edition, not the standard edition. I can't find any differences either. I thought everything was included regardless? Maybe it's just called Pro Edition because it's from the sub. Nothing was downloaded, so it's not ready for pre-load after all then

The most privilege I've seen yet on the subscription is the early access for the games that have it for certain editions.
As for Mass Effect I've just been staring at the download button for a few days and assumed pre-load was up as I think it's already up on Xbox?
Looks like I'll be able to wake up Thursday morning, start the download before I leave for work and it'll be finished by the time I get home, and when I wake up Saturday morning I'll be able to play … When my son goes down for his nap. Maybe.
