My two cents worth.
1- to Matty and his family all the best and I hope he gets well soon.
2 - I like the way this boy goes about his football.
3 - Kids these days are out of control. Well it is all our own stupid fault. we take away punishment at school, bring in 50 milllion rules to protect the kids. They then surprisingly learn that they can do whatever they want and when caught they are told to think about what they have done and go away and be a good boy/girl. On top of this we have the majority of parents who think it can not be their child causeing the trouble and will not back authorities when their child gets into trouble. Parents with 13-17 year old boys who just let them roam the streets and think that they dont get into mischeif need their heads read. I remember quite well as a kid that we would flog gibbs crates outside of shops at night and then go down the park and burn them, pull down traffic signs and put them up in peoples yards. Yes it all seemed like harmless fun but it does actually cost other people money. Luckily we were never violent but there was always a group that was, strangly enough they were always made up of all the dumb ****s. To say it is a new problem is being ignorant of our own behaviour when we were younger however it should never be tolerated the way it is tolerated today.

Doesn't seem to be particularly relevant to the thread though. Most posters here seem to be saying that 'whoever' did this needs to be caught and dealt with - no one is being named. Very difficult to take action against someone for that...

Defamation occurs when the reputation of a person has been lowered (or defamed) in the eyes of the public. I.e. comments/statements which have been written (or said) publicly which has caused people to change their view/impression of the person being defamed.
Sometimes, actions (or inactions) speak louder than words ever could.

I was there and saw it happen as well. That was the last schutzenfest for me. It used to be a very chilled cool day of drinking and then over a couple of years it got more and more crowded and you started getting the flannelette crowd rocking up just to get drunk and fight.
I also got randomly attacked by 5-7 guys a couple of months ago but escaped any real damage and ended up unconcious for a few minutes and got about 80 stitches to my head.
Yeah I reckon it is one of the most overrated days on Adelaides social calender.

I had a mate on the weekend, get knocked unconcious and kicked by a group of guysm had his teeth knocked out broken nose and had to have an operation to insert metal plates into his jaw.
Tough blokes attacking a guy who is on his own and then kicking him when he is on the ground, there are some real heroes out there.

What was your mate doing prior to getting bashed.
Not exactly sure as I wasnt there but as I understand it, there was a verbal exchange or something between these guys and one of his mates, he tried to calm things down and he just copped it.
