Bud, I've answered this a few times. I never fell into line when he played (as in never warmed to him, just not my type of bloke), couldn't believe he didn't do an apprenticeship at another club let alone actually wanting him to be the actual coach.

Going back in time would not have extended Knight's contract. Essendon didn't 'dope'. So why not have Hird. The transition from Knights to Hird was'nt ideaL. At least we didn't even consider Fevola.

I didn't say extend Knights contract, I said would you appoint someone else. You know, someone who could coach and would not inject your players with illegal drugs, for example. Like every other coach in the world.
Should've gone the IV drips lion style or cap in hand to the afl lion style or steal another clubs identity Bear style

Knight's contract was extended. Then he was sacked. If you ask for a go back in time and do different, you got your answer.
Player's weren't injected with illegals, non issue beyond unsettling Hird a little, having to go to France and all, but he is just a whisker off doing some real good communication with the playing group at the moment. The spirit is coming back.
