I sat behind Schazza at Williamstown last Sunday, and I studied the back of his head intently. Being an accomplished reader of all things to do with the backs of heads (including hair style and length), I can categorically state that he loves us and is a shy and retiring type.:p

Watch out if ever Vicky Park sits behind you.

Seriously, I agree he's just one of those introverts who won't ever be pressed or hurried into doing anything. He's got his agenda, and his way of doing things and neither the fans, the club nor the media will be able to make him do things he doesn't want to.

VFL watchers - is he particularly vocal on the field or one of those silent assassin types?

The one that concerned me was the question "do you want to stay at collingwood?" Straight forward question that he could have given a straight forward answer to, that wasn't necessarily a contract related one. And he dodged it beautifully. Could have given a simple "yes" or "yeah hopefully" but he didn't answer it. Feels harsh critiquing a young kid doing probably one of his first radio interviews but as we analyse the shit of everything on here for better for worse, that one had a few alarm bells ringing for me. If he stays good on him for not getting drawn into the speculation too much though.

Keeping his Options Open. Someone offers big money. He probably takes it.

Get use to that happening more now

Undoubtedly the SA clubs will be dangling a carrot in front of him. Even if he would have said yes, would the rumours ever stop? See Treloar "I love it here" who is apparently moving to us next year. As long as he plays his heart out while he is with us, I say good luck to him with whatever decision he makes.

Definitely totally dodged the question, 'do you want to stay at Collingwood' mumbled about good to be back out there yadayadaydada.

His manager has worded him up there I'd say, he is either looking to go home or wants a massive pay rise.

He did start his answer with "yeah" if that helps.

No, he can't retire after 1 game! We all want him to be a 400 gamer for the Pies (might settle for 300 and multiple premierships):p

Yer just listened to that interview, hes gone......i try to be optimistic usually but it sounds like hes gonski.

Just listened to the interview and I don't quite get where all the negativity comes from. Yeah it would of been nice in black and white terms to say "yeah ill be here next year" but "yeah I'm really enjoying being back out with the boys and it'll all sort itself out" doesn't exactly sound to me like he's going.

Adam treloar said he loves GWS yet everyone thinks he's leaving still.

Really Can't read too much, I don't think it's as negative as alot of you have said but

He could've been a bit more effusive when asked if he enjoys his time at the club (esp given the support he has no doubt received ) but on the whole I think his comments mean little. If he is being smart about maximising his value , then his manager has probably told him to keep people guessing.

His tone of voice changed when the topic become whether he was going to sign with Collingwood

I think it's a fairly strong chance he leaves at the end of the year, but all just speculation at this point.

Listened to the interview. My take is that he is keeping his options open but is more likely to stay than leave.

And Players will do that more and more now

He is a shit bloke if he is using the media to bump up his value. The club has invested in him and looked after him while hes been injured. He should be telling his manager to get stuffed and sign if he really wanted to stay.

See you later matthew.....

Adelaide, we will take Lever

He probably was like FFS now this guy is asking me. I just want to knuckle and play some good footy. :)

He is not the 1st and Last to do that.

Crows would want lot more then Schranberg for Lever

Its not very endearing for fans to be uncommittal. He would bump his salary up by heaps if all the fans loved him and were urging the club to sign him. Hence he isnt going for the money.....he is thinking of where he wants to live in Adelaide next year

I don't really like this guys attitude. We all have our opinions about this situation and mine goes a bit like this.
If he leaves I think it is a fairly low act. I am in the camp that thinks he owes the club for standing by him and having faith in him when they recruited him despite his injury.
If he stays I am still a bit iffy on the guy. If he is holding out for a better contract after not playing for two years imagine what he will do if he becomes a really good player. Every time his contract is up for renewal he will hold the club over a barrell.
So ultimately I really couldn't care less if he leaves. I am sure we will get adequate compensation.

Of course my opinions are based purely on speculation, the actual situation could be much different, but I can only go on the limited information we have.

And I was of that opinion few months ago but after hearing this interview I don't know.

How hard was it for him to use the old and trusted "yeah the Club and everyone been very good to me" when asked whether he wants to stay with us?
Sounds like the best scenario for us he isn't sure what the future holds.

Player managers have so much influence into what players say regarding their contracts in the media, you can't actually take any of it seriously.

I'd love a player to just come out and say "I love the club, I'm going to sign next week" and actually mean it.
