Senior List
Has anyone heard how Matthew Whealan is going? Is he still on the senior list? If so where do you think he will play next season? I havn't heard much about his progress this past season.

Still on our list, as he should be. One of our most important and valuable players, walk-up start in our best 22.
We missed him as much as anyone last year.
Back in 05 when we where on a good run of winning games wheels had a few niggling injuries during this time i think we got to bout round 15 he had missed 3-4 games and melbourne had won 12 of 15, he played ineveryone of our wins and none of the losses.
And after round 16 we fell apart completely seems the way to go in a run up to september these days
AGREED!
Back pocket is where he'll play... the guy is a star and i love the way he plays his footy. I also had the pleasure of meeting him, really nice guy.
Walk up start in our best 22 by far.
I wouldnt go that far..... Whelan is good, Rivers is a third man up type player ala Harley. Carroll battles, Bell is good and will improve. I think what we really need is for Frawley to become a full back for us and draft a key backman this year. With Whelan and Rivers back in 08 + Carroll and Bell. We will look pretty good down back.
Surprised we retained him.
Too injury prone.
However, like Rivers, he has the pontential to be another MFC recruit for 2008.
Me tooI have number 45 on my jumper.
