I predict the usual Reserve suspects in Harcourt, Brook and Talbot to fill the top 3 spots this year.

Are there any other sides in the comp looking like putting together a decent reserves side?? Avoca perhaps??

Talbot should field a very strong reserves side at this stage.

Carisbrook to have too much depth.

I agree Brook will be quite strong. They haven't lost a lot and look to have picked up a lot of 'depth' players. Will be top 3 no doubt. Harcourt will be the team to beat again I would imagine. Talbot has a lot more depth this year and I expect them to be up there also.

Talbot scored an impressive win against Harcourt on the weekend. Harcourt were down a few players but still had many talented players in their side and it was certainly a good win. With quite a few players to come back into the lineup they look to be a strong side that will give Brook and Harcourt a run for their money.

Any other reserve sides impress?

dont rite off trentham just yet with the special comeback of the whale and many others returning to play in the twos , if mick tadd plays in the twos all yr along with his brothers and the big fella in the goal square the trentham boys will go alrite !

Add Mick Moore to the list coming back from Rockhampton soon and will play with Mick Tadd and co.

I saw that the Whale was in. Talbot Reserves could be done a couple this week so it looks to be a danger match! Great to see that Trentham have managed to secure the services of some old legends of the club!

i believe thaT he even has his own sign at the ground, behing goals at coacher box end right???

Mick Moore due back in a fortnight Mick Tadd to play with him with Garry Goodall, Paul Montgomery also to play cameo roles, Trentham ressies to be force to be recond with Woodend becoming a force in RDFL players moving across with E Tunn and B Bear and co due to lack of opportunity at Woodend.. !!!!!!

have seen goodall play kicked a hundred the same yr as whale sitting in the forward pocket, havnt seen or heard of montgomery what type of player is he ??
may have to get up there and watch the boys when we have the bye.
what about the little guy who always use to be at trentham timmy white ? is he pulling on the boots for specialist roles in the ruck ????
last i heard of him was that he set up shop underneath a toadstool with a lady from the orient which he purchased from over the internet !!!

Netball don't know.

Can't return to somewhere you never played for, but did play against them when in the RDFL.

obviously your from around the area hallfull?
as some of the names you are dropping to my knowledge have predominatly played there footy locally ???
still think it would be better for trentham to rejoin the rdfl ,geograpgically much better for them

Brook 2s look to be the side to beat at this stage of the year. Talbot will have their work cut out in 2 weeks trying to knock them off! Harcourt 2s are struggling at the moment with injuries and unavailabilities by the looks of it but expect them to bounce back. Avoca look to be a much improved reserves combination also.

Carisbrook are gonna be tough to beat at this stage i agree but finals footy changes everything.
Avoca struggled in the early stages against a much improved Talbot.Pity they may not meet again.
Will be hard to pick at this early stage but would not leave out Harcourt or even Maldon.

Brook to host Talbot or Maldon

Brook still the yardstick. Talbot ressys will improve greatly as the year goes on as they are traditionally quiet in the first half of the year. Once we get our full side on the park we expect to be very competitive with the top sides. Avoca have improved a lot in their 2s and boast good depth but inexperience and a lack of marking power in the forward line still lets them down.

Brook to host Talbot or Harcourt IMO. Harcourt will be very strong come the end of the year.

Good to see Maldon 2s serve it up to the Brook and come away with the draw. Maldon 2s looked pretty ordinary when Talbot played them. Did Carisbrook have any out or were Maldon just playing well?

2-7th are extremely even this season and will be interesting to see who fills the the last 4 spots on the ladder.

Will Trentham begin to stack their seconds soon if they are not doing it already?

Maldon were playing a good brand of reserves footy 2 weeks back against us, maybe a chance of a stacked team to win a reserve's flag, very well drilled.

Granny will be brook vs talbot or maldon. Brook should win, far too much depth.

Ur a Brook boy obviously paca! Dont underestimate Harcourt! They are coming! The Botters will be a good side come finals tho too!

Nah not a brook boy king.. when you see players such as chivers, butler and even young jarrad williamson (goes alright) running around for the brook 2s the team just doesnt taper off like other teams do. I just dont really rate harcourt this year, just a feeling.

Talbot could easily win the 2s flag tho, it could be close.

I think that its still too early to predict who will fill the top spots. After seeing Harcourt demolish a very undermanned Talbot a few weeks ago they most certainly will be there very good running game hard to beat on their day Brook will be there,Talbot still have a few to come back into their senior line so reserves will be boosted expect big things from them from now on. I dont think Maldon can do it there test will be against Talbot in a few weeks.Rovers and Talbot outside chances at this stage final would be Brook and Harcourt depending on the way the top spots end up.

Talbot 2s are struggling big time but there is massive scope for them to improve with a number of inclusions over the next few weeks. However the had a side good enough to beat Trentham on the weekend and weren't able to do it. The work is ahead of them. Brook and now Harcourt are the benchmarks.

After a couple of unexpected results this week the fight for the last couple of spots is on.You would have to be a brave man to lay any money on the ladder positioning come last game.
Talbot v Rovers game should determine which way both clubs are heading towards finals Trentham playing well but you would have to say they have a big task ahead with Brook,Maldon,Avoca and Newstead
Avoca in with an chance a slim one but if results go there way.
Talbot have a few big names still to come back into senior line up reserves should improve.
Who will fill the last spots Trentham Talbot Avoca then Rovers?
Or will Maldon choke in the lead up and throw it wide open?
