Not sure if he should appeal or not, it's so line ball. I think he should get off based on the fact that (I believe) he's never been suspended before over quite a lengthy career, so when you consider his character I think it's fair to assume there was no intent. There was no concussion, hitting the fence is more on the stadium than McGovern. Still don't think those would be considerations that the tribunal would have though.

Just don't like people making **** up. Also don't like seeing players pushing into fences when they are already over the boundary.
One thing is obvious - you are blind! Would make an urgent appointment with an eye specialist if I was you🙄
LOL. OPSM have a new customer ^^... You could not be more wrong if you tried.

Eddie was quite keen on building the conversation about Gov getting suspended, straight after the game.

We of course play Collingwood in 3 weeks time, pretty pathetic really.

Peak West Coast right here.

An Eddie McGuire generated conspiracy designed to unsettle the team we play in 3 weeks.

Yep, sounds about right.

Yes. Everyone is out to get you.

He was more interested than anyone else on the panel talking about it. the others seemed non plussed.

This incident has been covered widely on TV and social media from a variety of sources. It has generated a lot of discussion because it is divisive. I dont really have an opinion on it - I can see both sides.

But to say Eddie was generating the discussion on the panel after it because Pies play West Coast in 3 weeks is just utter rubbish. It was a talking point like all reports that come out of a game. The most this incident was going to get was a week - did Eddie think he could get him done for 3 by raising it? Or get the week which will cause an issue for the Pies game in 3 weeks?

Take the tin foil hats off boys. Laughable.

Typical Eddie. It's a wonder his minions Tony Jones and the little clown on Triple M Brown aren't backing him up.

Bet he's got a direct line to Michael Christian, Collingwood old boy and all.

I’d say Eddie has been having nightmares about McGovern. And desperately wants to slay the fat dragon.

Any chance we can get Karl Langdon to be the sole adjudicator next year? Has plenty of tribunal experience.

Should get off. Looked worse then what it was. Players do that all the time to force their opponent out of play.
Every time there’s going to be a week suspension, you argue that in line with Gary Ablett. Sorry but that’s nowhere near malicious or intentional that his 2 elbows. That’s the precedent teams should follow

Couldn't be any worse than Christian

Well yes, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for Eddie the Collingwood president to ring a past member of the football club and an AFL employee. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for any club official to have an AFL employee's phone number.

Uh huh. Riiiggght.

Can you both answer me this - by using his connection to Christian or by using his platform in the media to generate discussion in the incident which resulted in the suspension (LOL), what impact will this have on a game to be played in 3 weeks? What was Eddie's game plan?

I'll be interested in seeing what they challenge on.

Probably the contest starting on the field as this seems to be fairly obvious.

They might look at the injury as well. I'm unsure if Guilfi spent time off the ground for a head injury or the ribs - talk seemed to be about the ribs. The charge is for the head contact so they might be able to reduce the impact to low and get a fine instead.

It's not low impact and it's not low intent. He's giving it everything he's got. Using such force, where did he think Guilfi would end up.

They like playing teams that are men down. It makes them look so much better.

First of all it was a normal footy act, forcing a player with the ball out of bounds. happens 10 times a game at least.

Secondly, the grading from the MRO is inaccurate. The 'medium' impact rating was given because he went off injured, yet the high contact was for the slight knock to the head. There was no medium impact to the head, and so the grading is incorrect.

will either be reduced to a fine or will get off entirely
