LOL ex bomber Jason Johnson on the tribunal panel, talk about a conflict of interest.
how about a trade
we remove our ex-players from tribunal panels, and you guys remove Margetts from the umpires when we play you in WA.
deal?

Perhaps they need to consider putting retired coaches on the Panel - eg Rodney Eade, Malthouse perhaps and others like him. Think players recently out of the game let their emotions and who they used to play for get in the way so it ends up as a conflict of interest like you say. 🤔
his suspension doesnt help us one iota though.
it helps whoever you play this week.

Bad enough he had to miss most of the match and go to hospital.
Didn't you listen to Woosha's post game interview? He stated that had the game been in Melbourne Guelfi would not have gone to hospital but just had tests the following day. Went on to say the only reason he went to hospital (by taxi I might add, not by ambulance) was because he had to get on a flight the following day & wanted to make sure he was ok to fly, for which has been reported that he was given the all clear. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story🙄

Who cares?

McGovern can take the week to freshen up, he won't be needed. Next time he'll know not to unnecessarily push players.

I'd rather him make a rash in-game decision than attempted match fixing like Stephenson.
Honestly, it's the risk of good players who play right on the line. Sometimes they cross it. But at the end of the day, you'd rather they keep playing the way they do because 9 times out of 10 it's what makes them elite.

Maybe Perth players should stop pushing players into fences and breaking teenagers' jaws then?
You will find most of our supporters had no issue with the Gaff suspension - he got what he deserved so don't know why you're bringing that up - a completely different scenario as it's not the issue that's presently under discussion - it's the inconsistency in the MRP handing out different penalties for similar incidences or worse. Can you tell me that what Ablett did (re his elbows) didn't warrant a suspension. He finally got done but he should have received a suspension a couple of weeks before that. As a lot of us are saying "different strokes for different folks!"

Any chance the VFL get a chance to **** us they will, no surprises there.

Farcical organisation run by clowns all pissing in each others pockets, will suspend a player for betting but get down on their knees for any betting agency willing to throw them dollars.

Will allow a bloke three chances to throw hands/elbows at a players head before acting because of a last name and the games 'narrative' but will suspend a player for a football action.

Hypocrisy and nepotism at its finest.

Should have been 2 weeks at least

clearly deliberate and almost caused significant damage.

Had this happened in a different state- crowd would have lynched him.

The only reason Ablett got off is because he plays for a Victorian club. We all know this. Viccy kicky am I right?

See you at the flat Earth meeting, brother.

Another player from another team would have just copped a fine, say like Frawley or that Zuhaara kid. Or Ablett, Dangerfield.......or Bellchambers.

All good Eagles fans, Gov misses a interstate game to freshen up. Barrass or someone else gets a crack. These things happen just like last year and players getting a game off here or there helped last season. The team covered losses and built resillience.

Just makes beating the bias flogs even sweeter.:thumbsu::cool:;)

So the hit was still bad enough that Guelfi needed tests?

Dat vicco bias

Good to see some common sense prevailed over WC hysteria and mass conspiracy theory calls. Just a reminder for everyone how hard it can be to take off your bias glasses when your own team is involved. Think the thread can be shut down - nothing else can really be added except more WC fans crying and claiming Vic bias.
