Believing that a football forum full of random people (who mostly haven't met each other in real life or even know each other's real names) have somehow formed a conspiracy to gang up on you and unfairly tell you your takes are shit for some unknown nefarious reason is evidently more palatable for certain people to believe than applying Occam's Razor and realising that their takes are just genuinely shit.

Why does this ruffle your feathers? The reference here is to television viewers in Queensland of both Lions & the Suns, not supporters of the Suns. The fact is that QLD has a population of 5.3 million, vs South Aus at 1.7 milion. The population also is rising daily with new arrivals from southern states, many of whom are AFL supporters. Then along with the local organic growth of interest in AFL, which is a reality, what he is saying is quite feasible.

Add to that the decline in quality of the Adelaide Crows, and the disenfranchised nature of many Port supporters with interest in the game declining, I would say it is not only feasible, it is more likely probable!

So no point in insulting the Suns chief for making a reasonable calculation. Better off getting stuck into the two SA clubs to get their act together, to make the game more watchable to SA viewers!

No feathers rustled at all. I’ve lived on the GC for 25 years. If you don’t have a pay TV subscribing here, you merely get a poor definition Huawei phone style coverage on 7mate.

Kudos to their new sponsorship, but too think people GAF about watching AFL on TV past the Brisbane river is comical

With the sanfl effectively running the show here in SA - it wouldn’t surprise me. Won’t happen for many years but that’s plenty of time for the sanfl to continue to leech the AFL dry and **** up the game day experience of the Oval
