Is anyone else going or has gone before? Was thinking of going with the old man, but not sure what to expect, considering the cost.

Have rang up the club 3 times now and left messages, but no one has got back to me, which i reckon is pretty poor as i planned on giving the tickets as a Fathers day present.

Anyone been before or going.

Date: Friday 23 September
Time: 7pm for 7:30pm

Cheers #1.
But apart from getting pissed which doesn't interest me, what else goes on? Can you talk to the players? Are the Reserves team in attendance as well (ie Fev)? Is it boring? Will Jake Spencers Mrs be there? I mean what do you get for $200 other than alcohol and empty promises for the next year. ;)

Syrus, I went for the first time last year with a few mates, and I'll be going again this year.

The night starts off with some drinks in the foyer of the Palladium. You basically stand around drinking free booze and have a good perv at all the players girlfriends as they walk in. Then you get seated and the entree's are served and the host starts the night with a few words. Then come the speeches from the coach, captain and president. Then the mains are served around the time the count starts. Similar to the brownlow they do a round by round send up of what happened and who played well.

After the top 5 are announced and they all have there say, the night finishes off with the players basically being available to talk to and take photo's with. I got some great pics with Robbie Flower(who I play tennis against), Ron Barassi and some of the current players. They are approchable for around an hour at the end of the night. I had a ball last year, so I'm taking the mrs and a few other buddies this year. It is pricey, but If you have the cash to splash, treat yourself at least once. Your old man would love it. We actually had after party drinks with Dunn, Davey(who was on crutches) and Bate last year. All were cool guys who were happy to hang out with supporters after the event.

$200 for a 3 course meal, free piss all night, the entertainment throughout the night and at the end you get a fair while to mingle with the players for photos/skulling comps etc

Should only be half dozen players there , the rest should be too ashamed to front.
This is definately a drown your sorrows year. then again most are that way.

I went the year Travis Johnston won.. Was a ripping night. Was sitting next to his old man which made it even better.. Got drinking with Brock McLean and ended up at the tables with him, rivers and Bruce. Then ended up in a Fidels cigar bar (that Neitz had hired out) until 7am with all the players... Was sitting between Neitz and Robbo all night (who had crownies in my hand quicker than I could finish them).. They really made us feel welcome which was a surprise!! Not to mention Flash dancing and singing stand by me on karaoke on top of a table!! Clearly one of the best nights I've had!!

Thanks for the info Crusty, sounds pretty good. I will probably be booking the tickets on Thursday. :thumbsu:
Mrs reckons she would go, but only if Fev is there.

Under consideration, I'd like to go.

What do you get for $195?

Money isn't the reason just wondering what they offer you.

Come along Crimson and see if you can be seated at our table. :p

Considering I dont drink, I guess I wont be getting my moneys worth. But i'm tipping the old man will make up for it. ;)

Going this year for the first time. Heading in with a few mates. Last club function I went to was the Melbourne team of the century, that was of the charts. Was dating a girl at the time who worked with one of the Barrasi's and sat on one of the Barrasi tables. Was dead set the most surreal night of my life

All the Melbourne listed players will be there. No Casey players, unless they pay there way of course. I don't remember seeing any last year. But I was highly intoxicated and in la la land talking to Nietz, Barassi, Flower.

If you take the mrs, just let her know there is no dancing at all. My mates girlfriend was upset last year that there was no music/dancing. Just so she doesn't get disappointed, I know how chicks can get. I have pre warned mine already...

Do you think I'll get kicked out if I bring a Tom $cully banner saying what a money grubbing whore he is??? I'm really hoping one of the players say something about it on the night. I want to hear some spirit from the club. I haven't heard much lately.

I almost rang the club today to see if $cully would be attending. I doubt very much he will be. (If he can't even tell Garry and Todd to their faces that he is leaving, I doubt he'd have the balls to face the Melbourne family.)

Remember when SEN reported that he'd changed his holiday plans for the B&F?

Turns out he changed them a few weeks back to NOT attend.

What would you do.....

You are standing by yourself at the urinal at the Crown Palladium. You're having a most enjoyable evening at the Bluey, having drunk many beers and half a bottle of red. All of sudden, one Tom Scully walks in and stands beside you. What would you do??????
