I rarely ever see their players REALLY OBVIOUSLY BLEEDING when they miss a mark, or a tackle, or a target or the many other thousands of things Melbourne players seem to miss.
They all play as though they are "learning" the game, and as such have the mentality of baby birds. Nobody steps up to the plate, nobody grabs the game by the balls.
Why not start recruiting:
Somebody to strut around like they own the place = Buddy Franklin (outback WA)
Somebody to rule a backline = Scarlett (Geelong)
Somebody to work their arse off = Riewoldt (Southport, QLD)
Somebody who dominates in the air = Jonathon Brown? (Warrnambool)
Some angry little pissant defender who will clip a forward rather than insipidly lose a contest = Mark Riccuito type (Waikerie SA)
Somebody who decides they want the ball and will do anything to get it = Joel Selwood (Bendigo)
Some angry possessed ruckman who tackles and makes second efforts, like the Draft sore point NicNat. (Fiji, WA)
Someone to add physical presence to the backline, like (can't believe it as I type but has become quite a solid player) Nick Maxwell? (North Ballarat)
Seriously Melbourne, what is with the endless procession of college/grammar boys? Jack Watts, Cam Bruce, Brad Green, Joel McDonald, James McDonald, Colin Garland, Blease, Strauss, Trengove, Scully etc
