Re: The Kerr Thing Again

Spot on fan... I also don't think they would be interested in Hooker - seem to have a lot of similar types.

Lovett + second rounder will not get it done, and I would not want to give away first round pick (which they will not anyway). I am still not convinced on trading Lovett and glad the decision is not in my hands.

Me either but I am resigned to the thought that if a half decent deal can be struck that it may be for the best. I mean with Jetta and Davey around we don't require a third player of that type if that third player is indisciplined.

Re: The Kerr Thing Again

Mark Johnson was told he was no longer required and was out of contract. Lovett has another year to run on his contract.

If we don't get what we want, he stays.

I sometimes get the feeling Knights doesn't really want to trade him but just give him a scare. The added benefit of doing so is if a dream deal comes across the table he'll take it.

Lovett is a totally different player at this stage to Jetta and Davey.
Lovett and Winders are more similar.

IMO Jetta and Davey are more similar. The only reason Winderlich could be considered more so is the position they play them in. As far as player types I see Davey evenutally playing the kind of midfield role Lovett has been, but I take your point.

Either way we have similar types.

Jetta will eventually be a midfielder- although probably not as good, reminds me a bit of Gary Ablett Jr- very quick and very good disposal. His fitness is a issue at the moment though so he will not spend large amounts of time in the middle for at least 2 seasons.

Re: The Kerr Thing Again

Bugger off. We want to get rid of a player with discipline problems, to get a player (Kerr) with WORSE discipline problems both on and off the field. No thanks. Not to mention pick5 in this draft is way too much to give up. I would only want to trade Lovett for draft picks to be honest, even if that is just a upgrade of our 2nd rounder or something like that.

kerr doesnt have worse discipline problems then lovett for 1 and 2 lovett has had many chances to prove himself to the club and has failed them all. kerr hasnt been given a chance at essendon.

pick 5 isnt much to give up for kerr, remember bradley we got at pick 6.. pick 5 is no certainty...

kerr excluding this year was in the top 5 midfeilders in the competition. he is worth pick 5 and lovett.

Kerr has worse off field issues- notably his ties with Cousins and co. You recon Lovett is bad, Kerr is 10 times worse! I do not want our youngsters to stray because of him. Add to the fact he gets suspended for half the season anyway! Pick 5 may not be anything, but I'd take a Michael Hurley or a Jack Ziebell over a player that may completely wreck a club in Kerr. I want our youngsters to play good footy, not be temped with the party scene like Kerr likes to. No thanks, and to be honest I will not enter any trade this year where it includes our no5 pick.

past tense, KERR LIKED TO. did you hear anything this year about kerr partying? i didnt, and given the perth media are all over there afl players if kerr went out drinking a couple of nights this season we would know about it. we havent heard anything about kerr involved in any off feild incident all year but lovett has been suspended by the club twice this season for putting drinking before the club.

essendon football club is arguably the biggest football club in the afl.. kerr wont be able to wreck the fabrics of the club or the culture, it just wont happen

Knights hasn't said he wants to trade him it is the Media and us that are making educated guesses that he wants to.

I don't believe that Knighter is like that. He doesn't play games.
He has given him penalties and he hasn't changed so imo he is out the door at the right price.

Hey folks - pick 5 and Lovett won't cut it for Kerr.

What makes you think WC want Lovett?

Do you reckon we need that kind of head case?

You should package Lovett with pick 23 and try to get another pick in the top 20.

Then you'll be in a position to deal for Kerr.

We wont trade for Kerr.

Lovett + pick 23 = pick 13/14

Potentially giving away Hurley/Ziebell + Swift/Trengove/Heyne

Doesn't seem viable for a team rebuilding.

at the end of the day, lovett is even older than Kerr so i doubt a pick5 + Lovett trade would entice WC, come up with pick5 + young talented player and they would consider it.

One of the more rediculouse proposals i've heard for a side trying to re-build. Trade off their first 2 selections in the last uncompromised draft and one of their best 7 or 8 players.

Keep dreaming their champ.

I guess that is what I'm really getting at. From Knight's perspective I would imagine if the right price did not come along and Lovett stayed at Essendon, at least the wake up call might serve Lovett well. Although Knights may be seriously trying to trade him, he would be aware of this evenutality.

How about A later pick plus three players! Nathan Lovett-Murray, Adam McPhee, Ricky Dyson and Jay Nash... Take your pick! Wouldn't mind McKinley also (not sure if he has resigned yet) that guy is a guaranteed star!! And call me a shit-stirrer but the guy shows immediate talent and ability to play at the highest level not that 'could-be' vibe of Forwards that we have like Gumbleton and Neagle... Time will tell, Tho i definitely think if Worsfold can keep it together WC will be a great team in a couple of years. Not quite as invincible as us though....

I've been told that Knights confirmed on SEN that Lovett will be traded!

If it was SEN then i look forward to seeing Lovett run around again in the red and black next year. Seriously how many things do they get wrong.
