Debating whether to get this on PS4 of PC. I can pre-load on PS4 but the PC version is cheaper and probably a lot prettier.

I'm not really surprised that you found a Coke guzzling monkey compelling. But the game has some serious problems that would have been judged more harshly if they had occurred in a game that wasn't MGS.

Same problem I'm tossing up on aswell, Ps4's online will be playable like 4 months before it gets released on PC, but PC will look and run much better but will probably have less of a player base than PS4.

What's wrong with MGS4? I liked the Drebin points system.

Do you really think that we're going to play much multiplayer give TTK drops so shortly after MGS5?

I honestly have no idea. I've never played Metal Gear multi before. But hopefully I can get a bandana so it doesn't matter if you take the heavy :p

Looks as though online won't be ready until October for PS4/Xbone and not until 2016 for PC. If I can find the PS4 version for $70 then I'll grab it but otherwise I'll pick-up the cheaper PC version.

I thought people buy MGS for the story, not multiplayer.

Hopefully the MP is good though.

I do. It's the same as TLOU for me. I'm buying for the single player experience, but hopeful they tack on an engaging multiplayer as well.

Hmm, disappointed to read IGN's take re: the story and was afraid it would be sparse. What made MGS 2 and 3 so good was a combination of the story, gameplay, codec convos, cut scenes (I actually looked forward to them).

I found it very interesting that Ingenito described the story as "insubstantial and woefully underdeveloped" yet the game gets a 10.
Those two things, especially in a Metal Gear game, make no sense lining up together.....
I mean that is a huge knock on a game (franchise) that has always been known for its story.

This game was never going to review poorly. It is silly though seeing 10's in reviews that have fairly valid criticisms.

I'm steering clear of reviews, but 10/10 doesn't necessarily mean perfect. You can have imperfect 10/10s in gaming if the overall experience is strong enough.

GTA III is probably the greatest example with poor gun mechanics.

I get that but if one of the complaints is 'the story is quite lacking' I think that's enough to keep it from a 10...

He also said the story is what it is, but it impacted on his experience of the game so lightly that it didn't really matter to him - hence the 10, I assume. Its just one person's opinion though.
