Anyone else keen on this? I have incorrectly slept on this assuming it was another SMT spinoff but it isn't. It is the first game by the new Studio Zero (still within Atlus) founded by the Persona series director.

After seeing it again during the Tokyo Game Show presentations over the weekend this is an instant day one buy for me now. There is currently a demo available on all platforms.

I've been avoiding the demo because I want to go as blind as possible. Have just been eating up trailers instead. There was some lengthy game play on display during the Tokyo show too which is when I realised this game isn't what I thought it was.

Don't play the demo, otherwise you'll end up with an blueball itch like me right now because I have to wait 2 weeks to play the whole thing.

This game's style is so over the top...and I freaking love it!

Although it does expose some pretty basic textures in the backgrounds and lesser characters, but not a huge knock against it.
Gameplay is super fun, I'm already getting excited at unlocking the archetypes and building up the bonds with characters.

Very interested how the daily tasks are going to be done, I haven't finished the demo yet so not sure if we get to see much exposure to that side.

But yeah, this game has GOTY potential for sure.

Absolute golden age of RPGs these last 12 months.

Ive had an epiphany with this game, basically it looks like a Persona game, but it’s not and I shouldn’t make assumptions.

I went to bed kinda frustrated with this last night, I was slogging my way a dungeon because my party was basically useless. In Persona you just have to deal with it or change out party members, but the Archetype system in Metaphor is super flexible.

I mucked around with it this morning and ended up with a better spread of skills across the party and now I’m having a better time working through the dungeon.

The combat is definitely tougher than Persona, but ignoring the Archetype system makes it harder!

What did you change up? I'm still in the treating it like Persona camp and doing the Cathedral for the first time (well second, after you return when the game fully unlocks and you can manage your time). So far I don't think I have fully understood the archetype system, have left Hulkenberg and Strohl as their default archetypes and made the MC the healer and levelling them up. I've unlocked other archetypes but haven't "studied" them and I'm pretty sure I've missed something crucial that I will probably work out later and wished I knew sooner.
