Watch his presser, you'll see a bunch of stuff that would give you pause for concern. He's a weird talker, admits he has OCD. But inside all that, you can see he will make a bright coach.
alright i did watch it cos I cant be fkd starting anything for work on a Friday afternoon. he is a little bit off-beat, and a different character. sense i got was that he would be meticulous and diligent in improving the team for those who want to put in the work.
Wouldnt expect any rousing speeches to fire up the team though.
let see how it goes

He's the onboard computer on the Ferrari being built. Not the speech guy. But he espoused a lot in his presser how his strength is actually building relationships. So he will still be the glue outside of the Xs and Os.

Dolphins hired 49ers WRs coach Wes Welker to be their WRs coach.

Welker has two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Texans as well as three as 49ers WR coach. He'll reconvene with Mike McDaniel in Miami, where he started off his playing career. We'll see if he gets traded for a second-round pick this time around.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Dolphins owner Stephen Ross could be forced to sell the team if the league's investigation into ex-coach Brian Flores' tanking allegations are proven true.

Quite the Super Bowl night news dump. "Stephen Ross would face severe discipline, up to and including Ross losing the team by a vote of fellow owners, sources say," is the exact wording of Rapsheet's report. Commissioner Roger Goodell did hint at such a fate last week, saying "if there were violations, they won't be tolerated," and "I do believe that clubs do have the authority to remove an owner from the league." We are still a long, long way off from that, of course. 81-year-old Ross has vehemently denied Flores' allegations. Even if the league's investigation turns up some troubling details, it might still not be enough to force a sale. Fans need look no further than the owners' decades of protection afforded to Washington owner Daniel Snyder. What is clear is that Ross is in no ordinary pickle.

Storm clouds gather for Stephen Ross

Posted by Mike Florio on February 14, 2022, 2:40 PM EST

Washington owner Daniel Snyder isn’t the only American oligarch who has to be concerned about the possibility that he’ll be forced to sell one of his most cherished possessions. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross suddenly finds himself in a potential jackpot with his partners, too.

Former Dolphins coach Brian Flores has accused Ross of offering $100,000 per loss in 2019, in order to improve the team’s draft position in 2020. As mentioned during Sunday’s Super Bowl pregame show, there’s a belief that the league’s investigation will conclude that Ross did indeed make the offer.

Ross apparently knows it. Already, there’s a sense emerging that Ross will claim he was joking. Beyond the fact that it’s one of those jokes with no obvious punchline, it’s also a topic on which joking probably shouldn’t occur, like joking about having a bomb on an airplane.

As one source opined, “I doubt Roger [Goodell] will have any sympathy for that defense.”

If the allegations are proven, it won’t be good for Ross. Already, NFL.com is pushing the idea that Ross could lose his team over it. NFL.com, which is owned and operated by the NFL.

Previously, NFL.com reported that an unnamed witness heard Ross make the offer. The report later disappeared. Still, everything NFL.com generates on this matter is significant, because NFL.com and NFL Network and NFL Media are the NFL. And the NFL will be investigating Ross, making a decision as to whether he did it and, eventually, passing judgment.

That could be the least of his concerns. If/when an ambitious prosecutor with jurisdiction over the matter behind poking around, Ross could be indicted.

Flex reckons Miami should let Gesicki walk cause lack of scheme fit... interesting, ******* good player, would be ballsy to just let him walk, what do you guys think?

Wont walk. He is one of those who disliked Flores, was threatening to leave if he stayed and when it was announced Flores was fired, tweeted he'll be staying

I meant scheme fit wise, I know money isn't an issue, if Miami WANT to retain him im sure they can.

Id re-sign him personally, too good a player to just let go somewhere else for a comp pick.
Kittle Niners, Gesicki Dolphins. Same scheme. You always need a TE for a game managing QB anyway.

Flex's point was Gesicki isn't a good run blocker (unlike Kittle) for a heavy run scheme therefor youre wasting money.

Hunter Long was drafted because hes a better run blocker. Not sure if Long can elevate to a top flight pass catcher. If he can, maybe Gesicki is expendable via trade, but i woupdnt because TEs get injured, need good players, and he is still an excellent receiving option. Got the cap room to keep all the best players on the team. Id keep him.

I would too, can always trade him if it's apparent he's not a fit down the track. Dolphins don't have enough offensive talent to just let him walk.

Exactly. And a young QBs best friend is a receiving TE. If the whole thing is about improving the offense and developing Tua, gotta give him weapons.

Depends if they want to relocate them
Where would they relocate too though. Every major city in the US has a team now.

Would the NFL be happy to not have a team in Miami.

With Beckham on board with the soccer team as well in Miami i don't think the NFL would want to give more ground to football personally.

But you never say never i suppose.

gesicki is fine as a receiving tight end. but can't block. i wouldnt be giving him the contract he would be chasing. if he stays, fine. but he needs to learn how to block. but then so does the entire o-line.
im more interested in seeing what running backs we have next year. our draft picks arent great - do we use it on a RB? or do we bring in via trade/free agency?

Ninet FA rbs will come over with McDaniel imo ...morstert and wilson.

There are better rbs like penny and gordon.

i think the niners ones will come and theyll also sign a gordon. Using the shanahan system, platoon of rbs needed to get thru all the wear and tear

well if we are poaching from the niners, then george kittle would be lovely!

are you talking about melvin gordon? that would be our most credentialled RB for a long time. interesting thought. duke johnson was ok for us, but the rest was pretty bare. reinforcements very much required.
