Captain Ebert, I believe you seem to be missing the point. Leadership can not be quantified, no matter how many runs are scored or wickets are taken. To be a captain, you do not have to be the best, you have to bring OUT the best in people. You can not measure this. look at Steve Waugh. The selectors have seen something in him that they believe shows leadership.

I mean look at that second last over in the test match against India in Sydney. Pup hands Clarke the ball and the champ takes 3 wickets in an over (As a batsman), i mean come on that had champion written all over it. i would put that up there as one of the best moments in recent history.

In summary, i will tell you that leadership can't me quantified, and it never will be. Cricket Australia sees something in the 27 year old, who is streets ahead of his peers (that is of current age) and he rightly so deserves every ounce of vice-captaincy he gets.

That is a valid point, and as i stated before, MC is streets ahead of his next peer (Age wise).

so what's the point of replacing poniting with hussey if he's oly going to be ther for a year or 2? there is none
