Mick Molloy replaces Peter Helliar on 'Before the Game'

Just found out. Personally i'm not a fan of Mick Molloy and think Pete will be a huge loss for the show. Hopefully they can keep it going though as it's been quality since it's launch.

Pete Hellier would NOT be a loss if he fell off the face of the earth. He is one of the least funny people on radio and TV. The guy should learn to tell a joke without mumbling and stumbling over every other word. Straughnie was funny to a degree, but he got old very quickly. The players just look uncomfortable to be there when they are in Straugnie segmants, its just embarrassingl pathetic now.

In fact, The only thing saving him from being the least funny person on the show is Lehmmo, THE least funny man ever.

Best News all day ..

Helliar is such an annoying, un-funny prat (being a mate of Rove is it any surprise)
The show is actually now going to be watchable without him and his childish antics ..

disagree there.

just caught him on spicks and specks,

only one providing any laughs.

"i'm gonna say jesus christ superstar again, on the chance that you got it wrong the first time"

Tony Martin was a hell-of-a-lot funnier than Mick Molloy I think personally, but I think he will be an adequate replacement. I dont usually watch before the game, however it was a pretty funny show and I can't see why Molloy will make the show so much worse????

Martin and Molloy had a falling out a little while ago.. doubt you will see them two together in a studio any time soon. And Martin is a kiwi anyway.

And has been suggested upthread, I believe Molloy's best work is on a panel type thing where all the pressure won't be on him to have the funny gag. I never really liked Helliar all that much anyway, so can't be too much worse can it?

People at work dont like him either, so I really think Ch10 have pulled the wrong rein this time.....the show is doomed.....but as I said before, whoever made the decision, should be doomed as well, because they have no idea at all of what works and what doesn't!!...

Don't think it matters. The show was doomed anyway. Hellier can be thankful he is getting off a sinking ship. Now he can concentrate on his fast sinking Radio show.

It's not about the individuals. It's the fact that together they all mesh well.

But if you say so :rolleyes:

Mick Molloy is the grim reaper of television, every show he has gone on has died horribly.
Ahh.

Let's go back to a show before most of the public holiday posters on here were born - The Late Show - no bombing there.

Love Molloy on radio, and enjoyed even his recent stint on MMM (a couple of years ago), but The Nation absolutely stank.

Cant say I disagree with this, he only needs to be a team player and deliver a few zingers, he was always quality on The Panel when he did a guest spot.

I'll tell you who is unadulterated shit, both on radio and on tele, is Lehmo.

The only person on radio who laughs at his own jokes more than Wil Anderson gets paired with Wil Anderson! ****!

Dave Cullinan > Lehmo by a ****ing mile.

Molloy and Helliar both suck, so does Lehmo and Hughesy, and Samantha Lane is only on there for something to look at and because her Daddy asked the Ch10 executives nicely... I usually love anything to do with AFL but this show is sh!thouse, Id prefer another serious football show (see Footy Classified) instead of a show for comedians who can no longer cut it on stage!

As he has said a million times, he knows nothing about sport, and would only talk about Ewen Chatfield, and Steve Johnson's suncream moustache.
The thugs in the scallop industry have too much pull at Channel 10, they'd make Tony about as welcome as a yellow bellied black snake at a barbecue :(

Molloy single handedly stuffed up Any Given Sunday, which was a great sunday morning show when Garry Lyon, J.B, and Sam hosted. Fear he will do the same here.
