Getting on a bit now, would probably still be handy and a big loss to
Mirboo, but I wouldnt think he'd be dominating like he used to if he was
to come back and play.

Also heard a player Mirboo had nearly signed from Yinnar - fell through
and has decided to stay with the Maggies.

I think Mirboo will suprise a few sides, a lot of ppl I talk to expect
them to drop considerably.

LOL.

Yeah 30 year old Full Forward who has kicked major amounts of goals in much higher leagues than Mid Gippy. He will destroy Mid Gippy IF he decides to play. And at this stage its just that..........IF

That Yinnar player is very old news. But for the record "He signed with Mirboo North on the dotted line, then reneged on the deal".

What, like ten years ago!

Trail was a gun and would most likely still win the goal kicking.
But considering his goals have dried up a touch, I think its a bit
ambitious to suggest that he would still destroy mid gippy.

Unless Mirboo have learnt how to utilize Don Webbs excellent
ruck work, then Trail wouldnt notch up a ton if he played.

Show how little u know then, how is old is Tim ??

He is 32 years old. :rolleyes: Shit thats way over the hill to destroy a very ordinary standard league like he has been repeated doing for years.

Hahaha he is washed hahaha he would prob only aveage 6-8 goals a game Mirboo North move the ball really well. Tim would only improve the team
 
Tim Trail is a gun and improves any side, especially in Mid Gippsland.

On another matter....What is going on with the MGFL replacing the Sherrin footballs with Burley? The Burley footballs are crap in comparison. Whoever made the decision to change them have a lot to answer for. The standard of the games (especially kicking and marking) have dropped massively!

Does anybody know more about this?

Has anybody else played with these?

The footy are rubbish, from what I have heard the MGFL gave the clubs the option to change to Burley or stay with the T.W only two clubs gave them answer (of No to Burley) and the rest of the clubs did not responed, the MGFL took those non responses as Yes'. It is a much cheaper ball made in SA or WA. They are lighter float when kicked.
The league have done this to cut costs but they don't pay for the footy's the clubs do.

Your probably right mate.

Mirboo could do with him in the midfield - aswell as forward,
just for some smarts alone, not to mention some much needed
physical presence.

Considering the league has kinda gone a touch backwards atm,
I agree that he probably would dominate just as much.

I probably over estimated the quality of the league, but after
watching a few games and seeing some players who are going
alright around the league - Trail could probably still dominate for
another 5 years.

Also on Boolarra, some poster seems to rate them.
They look a good young side, quick with some young talls,
They are a finals chance this year, maybe top 5 at best.
But next year, will see them go well, if not close, watch that
space when it comes.

Traf remain the side to beat this year, its interesting to see
sides remain in touch until half time - only for Trafs fitness
and condition see them over the line, will this continue to be
the case as other sides catch up to them fitness wise?

Mirboo could be a dark horse, they still have a good list on paper,
whilst they would be building towards full fitness in the second round
of the year, good youngsters but maybe lack on the physical side of
things - but that mightnt matter against Traf - who are more
renowned for their quickness.

Just a thought, thats all.

Used to go watch them every week when I was growing up. Was at the 97 Grand Final. It's because of Boolarra that I chose to follow Melbourne.

And he would have played or coached VFL against a couple of Mirboo North boys way back I would think. Might have my years a little bit off base as these two were a little bit apart - but Mike Patterson and Billo Snell were two of the Norths big VFL names in Barassi's day
 
Can anyone from Mirboo North advise what ever happened to Joe "i promise i never gave myself 14 best on ground votes". Is he playing still...is he persona non grata? or is he still welcome at the club?
