Weckert would have kicked goals for Port in the showdown.

He does have the core strength that he can stand up in a tackle. We are stuck with that high press game you need that.

I am warming up to him.

Need that nondescript half back flanker though.

In Woodville's loss to Centrals last weekend, Weckert had 5 touches and didn't trouble the scorers.

I wouldn't be counting on him to kick goals in a high pressure AFL game as a young player who has only started taking footy seriously.

Looks a bit of a one trick pony, but could develop.

How many games Narkle got since he moved to Port ? . He is always kicking 2-3 goals with magpies and 20 plus disposals but daddy egg head will never give him a chance .
24 posts and almost every one of them calling for Narkle in.

If Narkle is the answer you are asking the wrong question..

What role did we get Narkle to play?

Teakle was because we were short on rucks, McEntee we needed a small forward, Sutcliffe we wanted a shut down midfielder.

Narkle is an attacking midfielder who isn’t great defensively. He wasn’t going to be able to fill the small forward or wing roles. Maybe as the HFF role - but not sure we had the vacant spot for him.

So why take him only to sit him in the twos? And, if we did hope to make him a small forward, why play McEntee over him? Why not let Narkle develop his craft in the ones?

This season he's either been injured (as he is now) or he's being managed because of recovering from injury or surgery. He hasn't had a chance so far this year but it doesn't excuse his non-selection last year when he was fit.
