Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

This thread is becoming excessively boring to read..
How bout some real issues from the league..
The pumas had a great win over the rams!
Bolac look to be holding up the ladder at the end of the year?

watched a little bit of bolac and Lis/derri on the weekend and in the half of senior footy i saw bolac just seemed unfit when bolac are fit with a full side i think they might get a win or 2 on the board

Lis/derri vs Glen/Dunk - Glen are coming off a bad loss to the pumas and will want to redeem themselves with a huge game this week while liss/derri are coming off a good win by all reports against bolac. It will be an even match for most of the day but glen may just have the edge. Glen/Dunk to get up by 23 Points.

Tatyoon vs Moy/Will - Match of the round in my opinion mainly due to the intense rivalry between the sides and the fact that Moy/Will havent beeten the Hawks before. Tatyoon had a good comeback match last week against rovers with a good overall win and effort. Moy/Will had a great second round against one of the years favourites. It will be a tight tussle under lights but the run and carry of the pumas will get them over the line. Pumas to win by 30 points.

Caramut vs Hawks/Mac - Another very closely contested match will take place against these two sides. Caramut seem to have done some intelligent recruiting over the break and have come out with all guns blazing with two wins to sit them 3rd over all. Hawks/Mac are yet to get there first set of points for the season but have seemed to play some great football. The Swans will still be to strong for the eagles and roll them in the last quarter. Caramut by 18 points.

Penshurst vs Rovers - These two clubs have both gotten off to good starts to the season showing that they will be trouble come finals time. Penshurst have been named as the team to beat in 09 and have showed why in patches throughout there first two matches. This week will be the game to see them string four quarters together and it happens to be against the dogs. SMW rovers have started the season well with 1 win and 1 loss in two well fought matches. With some talented young blood at the club they seem as a likely underdog come finals time that will definately trouble all sides. Though the rovers seem to have a good mix going Penshurst will want to show the competition that they are out to win. Penshurst by 57 points.

Wikki/Bolac vs Woor/Mort - Both clubs seem to be destined to be bottom two at the end of the year but this week may decide what team undertakes the role of holding the wooden spoon. Woorndo havent one a match in a plethora of matches and will be wanting to finally sing that cobweb ridden song. Bolac have made a very sluggish start to the season showing their lack of fitness and depth throughout the side. Woorndo will pull together and belt their song out for the first time in who knows how long. Woor/Mort to get up by 30 points.

Don't know if I agree with your tips Tangy and certainly think the final margins will be a lot closer than you predict in light of the current weather. However, I think you have done a great job with your report on how you see the games. This type of post should provoke much better debate and discussion about the games rather than some of the rubbish that has been on here of late. There were no personal attacks, just your thoughts on how you see teams performing. Hats off to you, well done. Hopefully this would entise the likes of Bloods back to the forum as he was a similar poster who used facts and stats to justify his thoughts. These type of posts make the forum worth visiting.

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

Of course I'm a Dees fan so I'm a bit biased, but I am backing the Dees to beat Glen/Dunk on their dunghill.
I still think you cant underestimate Tatyoon.
Penshurst seem the one to beat, and talking to Knightsy he believes this is so.

Your right mate.. the margins are probably a bit off but as you also said hopefully it can spark a bit of clean tasteful debate between different posters with different point of views. Cheers

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

Tatyoon Star Full Forward kept to 1 goal! I thought the job Brendon Peters did on him was fantastic, Weather was in the Full Backs favour but Doogs' workrate was not there, did not want to work hard enough in the trying conditions to win his own football. Lazy front runner who only likes it dry so he gets it easy! Proves he is only as good as the people delivering the ball to him. Full Back got the points this time for sure, a job well done on what many label a 'Star' Full forward. Glad he showed his true colours tonight, enjoyed drinking my beer and watching the game even more!!

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

Did hear that, someone said his son plays there as well.I heard the umpireing was very average also heard Taty got only two free kicks after halftime. They said Trev.walked them off the ground after the game give them a cuppa and bun then cooked them breakfast the next morning:D

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

The umpiring at the Mpyston v Taty game may have been one sided in the second half towards the pumas but many people seem to miss the fact that the game was one sided toawards the Hawks in the first half. If the free kicks were added up at the end of the match the tally would most likely be fairly even.

I dont want to get in a slaying match here Tangy but the stats that were taken there was a huge difference at the end of the game as i did'nt go to the match i cant comment to much, that is the word around the traps:thumbsu:

Where in the rule book does it say the free kick count must be balanced by game's end? If the Pumas were rewarded with free kicks then they either got in first and were infringed against or they were more effective when tackling.
This wouldn't be a case of the front runners getting all sooky-la-la when finally challenged on the field would it?
Thought the Goons were better than that. Dougy, tell the lads to harden the f#%* up!

Obviously you were like me and did'nt see the game as i said i don't want to get in a slinging match there is enough crap been put on this site already that 's why people are getting of here in their droves but i think if you read Morgs write up he gives a bit of a hint about the subject of the umpiring and by the way Morgs if you still read this site it was another good read on all the weekend games well done:thumbsu:

Anh fair enough then Roo.. cant say i took stats so yes my view may of been varied

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

Obviously the Dees weren't up to it up at Dunkeld.
It looks like they got taught a lesson in those conditions.

Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2

Are Moyston able to win the flag this year. The first 3 games they have won with relative ease (from score only dunno if they were pushed or not). Is this because they have played the so called weaker sides and haven't being challenged or have they knocked off some of the contenders.

There is no chance that Moyston can win the flag. Penshurst have already engraved their name on the cup. They may make the grand final. I would say it will be between Moyston, Taty, Glen or Caramut that play off for second.

Good point G.Train i have never seen these Ewing boys play and what i know about Moyston backline is aparently they wont have enough experience to hold them in those sort of games(finals)but we are forgetting one vital thing it is only round 3?and sides are still feeling their way.

biggest load of crap ive heard in a while grant ewing might kick a tonne but hes no where near darren saying that if darren was at penshurst and not qafl, they would be a hard unit...penshurst will make top 3 but the comp is way way open .penshurst midfield is ordinary so is there backline.they have picked up a 30+ year old FF and a desent chf thats it...
