No one in the MDFL could keep with them. Each year the teams seem to be losing some of their better players and just not able to recruit that quality back in. Sad that is looks like Robertson is leaving Rovers as he was a good local player.

What players in the LPFL? Their are players in the MDFL that are just as high quality as the best players in the LPFL. Its just that the standard now drops off so sharply in the MDFL now.

Anyone could keep him quiet? Ronny Watson and jumbo jenkinson are how old? they would be nearing there 40th birthdays wouldn't they! Lets just face facts the mininera league isn't that crash hot and there are far better leagues around including the LDFL, Look at the Mininera League of today not years ago when it used to be handy!

Exactly. Everyone keeps talking about the old guys. Sure they used to be very good, but come on, Ron Watson, he's how old?? Magic the MDFL has gone downhill. Part of the problem is its hard to recruit players when the league is so spread out.

Huge issue this. Sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't revert to pre-1970s league formats by doing away with reserves teams, so that we could add 50% clubs and enable localised teams and a community feeling again.

Imagine Getting back to a Bolac / SMW / Taty / Lism / Derri / Glen / Dunk / Will ... adding Moyston back into Moyst / GW / A1 / A2 / S1 / S2 / Lands ... and maybe get Hawks and Mac back apart and back into a SWDFL. Basically, reversing the trend, but doing so by way of removing reserve comp.

Probably a stupid idea, but the romance just seems higher in more localised leagues, which could improve participation.

That is the most sence going round, give the towns back an identity and a team, for most clubs one ground and rooms gets the focus and the others go into disrepute which can kill towns.
 
MOB great idea, but i still think it will be hard to get players out to the regional clubs, still have to travel, The clubs that have merged now have done for either lack of funds, or lack of players, and splitting them back into 2, even with one side........

Still like it tho.....

Now can anyone tell me if the the wheels have fallin of Moyston, or were they just very small??

And Lismore Derri, HOT and COLD? what with that......

Can anyone else shead any light on the way final 5 will shape up?
 
Moyston have improved a lot but the wheels still need some new tread before they will become a high quality side.

Against taty they looked pretty much like the same old Moyston of two or three years ago. When they still had a few good players running around. The players that have returned now.

Top five should shape up like this.

Tatyoon
Hawkesdale
Lismore
Glen
Caramut

But anyone can fill those last 3 or four spots, bat worndoo who struggle.
 
LIS/DERRI at 3, you rekon they will make it there, the games ive seen them play they have played well, and i do know for a fact (Know a very imformative source) that they are set to gain a few players back from either injury, or from work commitments after the break.....

Taty at one, well yea they are good, but i think very beatable..

Hawksdale, at two, seen them play a couple of games at home, But will they travel?

Caramut at 5, who are now what 2-3 and youve got them squeezing just into the five, why is this, half way through the year, they goin to struggle in the 2nd half? losing players?

ROVERS, PENS, usauly on previous years have good second halfs to the year......

I think you prob got it nailed on the head, very even comp at the minute...

Be very interesting... Be good to see moyston sneak in.... Be good for the league aswell....
 
Well like i said it could shape up a number of ways.

Teams will improve after the break.

They would want to improve, having myself personally seen a lot of dismal performances from sides that are better than that.

apparently lake bolac have tried to get the package deal of jesse robertson and luke fisher for $100 each per game
 
In my opinion these are the best teams in order with everyone playing each other once apart from one round. This might not be the end ladder but how they performed against taty.

Taty
Lismore - played well for first quarter - seemed to have not a bad list.
Hawksdale - Started slow but showed fitness - rely too heavily on richardson as their only goal source but just have signed murray habel which will booster their ranks.
Caramut - got smashed but they have beaton most other teams. Look to be a quick running side.
Glen - Very top heavy side which could be their downfall. No quality running players.
SMW Rovers - had poor game. Had a few out but no real superstars. Nick Byrne was their best player.
Penshurst - havent played yet but they seem to be going alright.
Bolac - giving the younger guys a go which will only benefit the club.
Moyston - are overrated by themselves coming back to earth.
Woorndoo - Try hard. Matt Bourcheir good player
 
Can anyone tell me how does Stefan Phillips from Woorndoo-Mortlake he tells me his close to gettin a ones game soon??
 
Penshurst are always a very competitive side. Only 2 undefeated sides in the reserves are Tayoon and Penshurst. Tayoon reserves have had 2 points kicked against the last 3 rounds of football. That is some feat. I dont care what anyone says its still 21 blokes on to 21 blokes and how this can happen is beyond me.

And how do you see taty beatable when no-one's even looked like it???
 
Because in football freddie, everyone has there day, everyone can be beaten, just cause they have a good list and they are playing good football does not mean they cant be beaten. When your on top and going so well, its harder and harder getting motivated each week, so i am sure that if they slip up, there will be a team waiting.......

100 each game!!! try 300, thats what was really offered, but it won't happen... the boys don't want to play for such a poor side (a cocky bunch of ****ers)

Well mates33 stefan played a fair bit in the ressies last year and had alot of time and space on the ground as the opposition just dont man him up, this being said the players prefer to go to ofter 3 on one contests against them instaed of kicking to him, maybe there is bad blood between the players out there of lack of faith in him
 
well he is a gun!!!! a super star he kicks everyones ass. but he is injuried so he wont get a game this year but next year he will be there for sure
 
well mate why did he setting most of there goals he didnt kick them but he is good at setting them up form the wing
