i heard neil kelly was offered the job during the week, but turned it down after still remaining true to the demons planing to follow them during the year.

Is he going to play on or retire?
The Demons have got some work to do if they are gonna match Taty.
How do other people think the Demons will go next year???

Richard Tucker won Tatyoon's B&F yesterday in front of Andrew Ward and then Andrew Maconachie. All 3 had great years.

Travis McMahon won the 2's in front of Ben Devlin and then Dave Lewis.

Jack Ganley won then juniors in front of Joel Fitzpatrick and then Josh Hustler.

Well done to all above

Well done to all the lads, especially young Andy who must have been the best player in the Hawk's finals series.:thumbsu:

Nic Byrne has won SMW Rovers best and fairest ahead of Luke Fisher..
Byrne had a great year, finished equal third in the Lewis and was probably a touch unlucky in the end to not sneak Rovers into the finals..
Fisher is a star of the future, plenty to like about him - hopefully he gets a full season with the Rebels next year!

2008 Mininera Football Best & Fairest Winners
The 2008 Mininera season has ended on the field for all the teams, and with only a handful of presentation nights still to be conducted, another season, is nearly complete for the clubs.
All the clubs have completed their best and fairest counts and as you can see with the table below, no real surprises are evident, when comparing the results to the league count a few weeks earlier.
The only minor surprise was joint Lewis Medallist, Murray Habel from Hawkesdale Macarthur missing out on winning his club award, where Brad Sholl reversed the close league count, by beating him for the Eagle’s top honour. Sholl was runner-up in the league, missing out by one vote.
The other joint Lewis Medallist in Caramut’s Lachlan Barr won his club’s top award, while Nic Nyrne (Rovers) and Jahn Knight (LD) who both finished in the top five, took out their club’s best and fairest.
League Top ten finishers in Penshurst’s Brenton McKenry, and Moyston-Willaura’s Craig Flower also won their club’s major award, while Richard Tucker belied his lack of league votes with a win at Tatyoon.
The Ram’s Dean Jenkinson, received his fourth runners-up trophy in five years, when he was pipped for the top honours by first year recruit, Caleb Hogan.
In the minor grades, Leigh Uebergang confirmed his League Reserve Medal with a Penshurst best and fairest, while Under 16 players in Taylor McKenry and Will Collins went one further than their joint league runner-up award with wins at the Bombers and Rams respectively.
The Under 16 league joint winners in Jake Clark (WLB) and Michael May (LD), completed the double by taking out their club awards.
Finally, with two outstanding contribution recognitions, Michael Davis from Moyston Willaura and Scott Henderson from Lismore Derrinallum were both awarded Life Memberships.

Great summary Bloods,

Good to see Jahn win the B & F and Hendo with life membership.

Good to see young blokes coming through.

Cheers mate.

were the top contenders in the lweis medal any chance of taking the medal in respect to missing games through injury and so forth??

I think you will find most in the top ten played most of the season. Sholl was told by the coach to have a spell in Rd16, so in effect that may have cost him, while young McKenry from Penshurst missed the start of the season with an injury. Fisher may have missed a couple as well.

any new recruits for any teams yet?? or still too early to tell?? whats the go with jumbo at glen bloods??

Not really sure whats going on Lemons.

There is a committee meeting tonight, and maybe something may come out of that, considering their advertisements for coaching positions closed on Sep 30th.

What I do know, is that time is ticking away in terms of recruiting players, while you are coachless!

As far as other clubs go, I am not really sure, but from my sums more than half the clubs are looking for coaches.
Caramut - Todd O'Sullivan
WLB - Leo Fitzpatrick
HM - Jamie Hetherington
Taty - Walton/Campbell???????
Rovers - ????????
GD -????????
LD - ????????
PEN - ???????? G.EWING will be hunted hard
MW - ????????
WM - ???????

You may know more than me mate.

Does anyone have any information regarding Moysten/Willaura's coach for season 2009?

My word is they have approached several people, however no takers yet..
One of these was reported to be Stawell coach Dale Power..
From what I hear two people have applied for the position, however Moyston are still going through a process and seeing who else is out there..

any loses of yet for any team??
how the meeting go the other week bloods?? a success??
i heard that shagga is leaving taty,

Dunno how true that is, but i wouldnt be surprised if Shagga went and played in Geelong next year if not at the Roosters..
Has mates down there and another mate in Damian Cameron from Taty is also playing down there now.. Watch this space!

I agree with you Bumbles. Shagga is heading to an Ag college in Geelong next year and he will try his luck at St Mary's with Dammo. Good luck its a tough league to break into. On the Same note congrates to Dammo who just won another flag this year with St Mary Res. Interesting to see him play against another ex Mininera boy Dean McInnes who could only play Res. I noticed another old Lake Bolac boy play 1's for Colac in the Grand Final in Alex Adam. Just shows how strong Bolac Where 5/6 years ago.

Thought that might be the case... Think he is good enuf to play in that league, may depend on the team! Damo played at St Marys and was in and out of the seniors due to the strength of the club - both seniors and reserves won flags and were the best teams all year...
At another club im told Damo wud have played seniors all year, he actually won the Geelong Advertiser award for the league in reserves...
Anyway good luck to both boys, here's hoping they can crack a regular senior game next season!!

I wonder who the Demons will chase as a coach? Any word Bloods?
I haven't heard much about it. Seems very quiet thus far... I am not sure how financial they are down there.

Only player I heard that they may have approached was Ballarat captain, Ash Baker who is apparently from that area. Can anyone confirm?
