At the time, I think Telstra may have been one the few companies with a large database of personal customer details which with the right permissions, an employee could locate with a simple query. Even private number records.
Very few people have access to systems other than CRM software, and typically all activity is logged. Police could easily subpoena Telstra for such data if relevant.

The Missing Australia Podcast features Lorrin with her daughter Amelia talking. I haven't listened yet.

Also an ABC article, comparing the search for Samantha Murphy compared to her own mother.

On February 13, the greeting card turned up in an envelope in Amelia's step-father's mailbox.

Instead of offering hope, it only deepened the mystery.

A handwritten address on the envelope indicated it was directed to her children, but nothing is written inside the card, only the pre-printed message.

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened," it read.

From the articles below: Multiple witnesses saw Lorrin in a Red 4 Wheel Drive including getting in the drivers seat and it being parked on her nature strip. Lets hope this leads to some answers.

Around the same time as her supermarket visit, a witness reported seeing Lorrin enter the driver’s seat of a red 4WD in Bannockburn's CBD. This was the last time she was seen by anyone.

Additionally, a second witness reported seeing a red 4WD vehicle parked on the nature strip of Lorrin’s property over the weekend of her disappearance. At the time of her disappearance, Lorrin did not own a red 4WD.

Police are appealing for the owner of the red 4WD to come forward as they may be able to assist police with their investigation.

Really pleased to see this, so finally they're releasing new information. What took them so long I wonder.

Murphy said the search zone was on private property, but stressed that the owner “has absolutely nothing to do with this investigation”.

Further to last year. There has been searches for Lorin's remains on private property near a small town of Shelford.

The ex-husband had a red 4wd is a rumour. Amelia, has said that police have ruled out a link to Claremont.
Amelia also said in a podcast, (not in these words exactly but along the lines) that she has felt since the day she disappeared she knows who is primarily responsible for it, whether it was them, another party or accidental, and that she forgives them a bit. I'll try and find the actual words she used and edit this. The only part that doesn't fit is he was looking after the kids that weekend so how could his car be parked at hers and used by her. Perhaps swapped cars because of baby seats? Perhaps Amelia is referring to him driving her to the point of suicide, or perhaps a psychical fight gone wrong. All speculation and ideas from me here.

Connections with Claremont are and always were ridiculous based only on the school she went to about 25 years prior.

I got the impression in early talk that police were suggesting that she left of her own accord and was probably somewhere else across the country. Leaving in the drivers seat of a car would imply that. Police would know what car the ex-husband had and potentially have known it was a red 4 wheel drive since she went missing.

In any case a couple of papers are reporting that Investigators are preparing a report for the Coroner.

They
When someone disappears after leaving all their belongings including money behind, the intention and the outcome are seldom good.
Well her laptop was missing and never been found. I think the red car sightings never happened. It's solely to try and make the suspect nervous as everyone close to him knows he had a red 4wd. It's even mentioned in an article that the car belongs to a suspect. Amelia has pretty much come at and said she believes her stepdad is responsible. I 99% believe that there is no way Lorrin self harmed. Police stuffed up big time not thinking foul play from the start.

But that don't leave all their doors open. Especially shed and take their laptop. The ex did it. They are baiting him him false new evidence to get him to slip or get those close to him or know him to talk.
