Daniher is making a mistake. Placing a sub-standard team in where he thinks the win is a guareentee.
Holland, armstrong, godfrey, rigoni and motlop. There 2nd rate footballers.
Beware melbourne supporters this game could be a loss.
Daniher proves again he isn't a super coach.

what are you talking about?
Armstrong, Godfrey, Riggers, Motlop all played in last weeks great win.
Sure non of them are absolute top-liners but I think you're being a tad harsh.
Very harsh on Danner as well.
We won't get rolled by Freo at the G. No way.

Armstrong played what was it 3 games for us last year? he is poor. Holland is the worst player to lined up this week. He is slow, cumberstome and can't take a mark. Get rid of him please.
you watch he will play on theri worst defender and he won't get a touch.

The only player I'd have in at the moment is Sylvia (but I can understand the decision to drop him). Heffernan has been poor and Read suffered an injury during the pre-season so he is just getting back his form and fitness. Rigoni has been handy for us this season, Godrey hasn't been bad and deserves more credit. Motlop and Armstrong both played one game, which was last weeks win against Sydney. Neither stood out, but they deserve a chance to prove themselves early in the year.

There is nothing wrong with what Daniher is doing, he is giving a lot of border line players an opportunity to prove themselves in the senior side. I'm sure by the end of the season the team will be more defined, barring injuries and suspensions of course.

he is probably playing to streth freos defence without Polak or Haddrill

Good point. Keeping some of the borderline players in is a good choice as it's still early in the year and he's giving them a chance to show what they can do.

Holland will struggle a bit this week. He will play limited time as 3rd tall in the forward line and will rest White for the last 5 minutes of each quarter.

Arma is hardly gonna star with the minutes he is given. He along with Rigger and Godfrey aren't top liners but no one has a team full of stars. Rigoni is probably in the best form of his career at the moment IMO.

Give Motlop a break. He's played and game back and was solid. He works hard and has good skills and will be a very handy player for us.

As for bagging Daniher, what has he done wrong this year? The Dees are third at the moment and recognised as a premiership threat. The team this week is basically the same as the rest of the year so if the third placed team is sub-standard, it doesn't say much for the standard of the competition.

FWIW, Fremantle will be tough opposition this week. After their incipid performance against Richmond the other week, they will be primed to prove they can play at the 'G. Melbourne will have to play well against them no matter what team we field this week.

Great work daniher. keep playing those borderline players so we can keep throwing games down the drain!!! what a fuc*kin disgrace. What is the point of playing these players when they are not the future of our club.

Bell deserves to play on the ground for 20 mins of each qtr. Sylvia deserves to be in the game over godfrey or armstrong. Holland is the biggest joke of AFL. Someone who can ruck like Paul Johnson deserves to be in the game so much more than Holland. Read adds some toughness and some eagerness for the ball and so does heffernan. With players like armstrong and TJ just running off packs we actually have noone who can get the ball.

Daniher lets get PROACTIVE rather than REACTIVE!!

How can you bag Holland when he kicked 5? He was far from our worst.

Rigoni and Godfrey were again crap, both should go out for Read & someone.

How can we loose when white gets 42 hitouts?

The thing about holland is he is so slow and defenders can run it away from him so easily.

Lets get back to our winning strategy. Miller CHF and Rivers CHB.

Its a disgrace to have Miller at CHB at the MCG.

Daniher your a DISGRACE !

White had minimal opposition in the ruck, but most of his hitouts were ineffective.

Yes Holland is slow, yes Holland is a dud. But you cannot complain when he kicks 5.1.

The coaching was poor today. Miller starting on Pavlich was poor, but what was worse was leaving him there all day when we lacked something at CHF.

I think your comments are fair, but i think you are looking for someone to blame and it wasn't ND.

Pavlich was almost unstoppable, he was awesome, we had no one who could match up on him until Rivers stood up after half time.

Also McPharlin was awesome and we couldn't stop him either, Farmer had a blinder (damn him, always against us), i don't think there was much ND could do.

Although i do agree Miller CHF, he is our Pav, but he does do a job at FB. Its still our weakness the FB possie.

Daniel Bell has been very impressive!!

There doesn't need to be any scapegoats.

As a team we weren't hungry enough for the ball. There were too many basic skill errors. For some reason our defenders decided playing in front was a good idea, only to be used as a stepladder.

Miller at CHB/FB is a good option against powerful FF/CHF's like Hall, J.Brown and a few others. This works especially well on a small ground where there is not much need for a CHF.

The simple fact is we had nothing at CHF on the MCG, where you absolutely need one. I'm not blaming Daniher for the loss but I think he had a poor game as coach .

Ferguson should have gone forward for a spell, he spent the best part of a half sitting on the bench.

The fact is we were missing a CHF all game. While miller was getting beaten by pavlich all game, we had a defender on the bench who wasn't given a 2nd chance.

Why didn't Daniher move Miller to CHF (where he belongs) and give an up and coming defender a chance to play on pavlich? Why wasn't our best defender bizzell or rivers ever placed on pavlich? Pavlich is not like barry hall where he takes a lot of contested marks. he leads well and takes good chest marks.

This is where i say we lost it. We lost the game because we had no structure. Without structure our players running tirelessy for no result.

Yes i agree Holland kicked 5.1, however he is too slow to put pressure on defenders. He can't take a pack mark, and boy did we see it when he had 3 shots on goal in the 2nd, one didn't make the distance and the other was a disgraceful point when he was straight in front.

With white's hitouts mostly ineffective all game it couldve been wise to give another ruckman a shot. This is where i think Daniher made another coaching mistake. Why not play Paul Johnson our 3rd ruckmen, to be able to add more flexibility to our lineup. Wouldve allowed Johnson to go up forward and white every now and then, and let me tell you id rather see those two up forward than holland.

Lets all just note how useless holland was when neitz didn't play our last 5 games last year.

There were no problems with the forward line on the weekend. When we brought the ball into our forward 50 we had no probs kicking goals. 20 of 'em in fact. The problem was the slackness of the midfield which gave Freo easy passage into their forward line. Miller was the best suited player on Pavlich and did a good job inside 50 but couldn't/wouldn't run with him outside 50. Rivers had his hands full with McPharlin and we didn't need another tall up forward. And Bizzel is too small to play on Pavlich.

You don't need to agree that Holland kicked 5.1 that is fact. You could agree that he at least played pretty well though. Or is that asking too much.

Finally, Neitz missed the last 2 games last year (in which Holland did bugger all) and he was servicable in the 3 before that.

Holland actually is a very good mark, he was top 5 for contested marks for us last year im pretty sure, something like that.

it would have been nice to see more then 5 goal kickers though. Johnstone, Davey, Miller(though not vs freo), Moloney, Motlop are all very capable goal kickers

can we all agree now its time for Holland to go?
He is just a disgrace. Far to slow. Can't take a contested grab.

Come on Daniher we want to win games!!!!
