Perth captain Corey Yeo has urged AFL clubs to “roll the dice” on livewire forward Michael Bennell, who has taken the WAFL by storm since making his league debut in June.
The 24-year-old they call ‘Magic’ started his season with a bang, booting four majors and getting the better of AFL-listed defender Francis Watson in the Demons’ 46-point win over West Coast Reserves at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday.
Yeo believes Bennell’s name will come into consideration in the AFL’s first mid-season draft since 1993, which will take place after round 10.
