It the results were posted it would become quite annoying because everyone on Bigfooty would just judge players based on their DC results ie "Why would we draft that crab, he runs 3.22 for 20m!!". Ignorance is bliss.

True, it's annoying enough just having the top tens and Hurley's 20m sprint time . It's all about how you apply your athletic abilities on the field and as such I don't wan't people making judgments over draft camp either.

Top 10 pick for me. This kid has the best hands ive seen in u/18's football for a while. Won the old mentonians u/19 goalkicking award and only played 4-5 games. Witnessed him kick 9 straight this year for om and was astounded by his ability to read the ball in the air. Although he doesnt have the athletic capacity of a Watts, his contested and uncontested marking ability, i believe, is the best of all in the draft.

What embargo?

Jack Ziebell

Ziebell’s beep test was just below the average and he ran his 20-metre sprint in 3.11 seconds.

Daniel Rich
He had a shot at the repeat speed test, though, before pulling up sore, notching 26.48 seconds

You can see Cordy clock 3.11 seconds on the draft videos on BigPond.

Naitanui's 20 metre run was brilliant.

You can see his splits come up, so maybe the AFL's lawyers should sue BigPond.

Richmond had Ben Holland and Ben Hollands in the same side.

Dennis Rodman grew 14 inches in a short period of time while in his late teens.

I think it was actually in his 20's wasn't it?

Whilst somewhat rare to grow late, there are a lot of documented cases.

Btw, Scottie Pippen is another of the most noteables. He went from a Point Guard to a all everything player growing from something like 6'1 to 6'7 in a very late growth spurt whilst at college.

As opposed to everyone basing their opinions on the thoughts of two or three posters?

I said I was shown them. They only need to cursory glance. More interested in the kid's temperament / upbringing / goals in life / social smarts and football smarts than what size his hands are or how long his friggin arms are like all these people are carrying on about Rich. I mean, some people are actually saying that part of the reason he could slide is that his arms aren't long enough - which is quite unbelievable.

Another top article from Quayle.

Persistence pays for new Cat

MITCH Brown wasn't supposed to have been a first-round selection in yesterday's AFL draft. He wasn't supposed to have been chosen by Geelong, a team he watched play in a grand final only a few months ago.

He wasn't even supposed to have been drafted, full stop.
"I can remember him hanging up the phone and walking out of his bedroom telling us he hadn't made another team. When he didn't even get a pre-season, I think that really upset him. But he never let it show. I don't think he ever gave up on himself."

In that game, he kicked seven goals, took many more marks and made Molloy almost choke on the two-minute noodles he was eating for breakfast. This kid was good. He went back the next few weeks to find out just how good, and Brown kicked six goals, five goals, and gave the TAC Cup team no choice: it had to get him into the team — fast.

I find it hard to believe Wilson writes for the same paper as Quayle...

I know what you mean mate. At least Emma writes articles which are actually about football, and does a great job of it. Her book was fantastic.

Wilson, on the other hand, when I see her articles about all the off field crap - which most of the time is speculation - well I don't even bother reading it. Funny to find that down the track what Wilson was writing about didn't eventuate happening anyway.

Measured at 195cm and 84 kgs at screening.

Everyone is finally jumping on.

I have touted this guy on the school forum since June. Have only seen him play twice, once against the mighty ACK where he completely dominated the game with 7 goals and about 20 marks and the last TAC Cup match against the Falcons where he played as a lead up forward. In a game that included Watts and Vickery, he was certainly the best tall on the ground by a mile.

It's a big call but I will not be surprised if he turns out to be the best player to come out of this draft. Maybe not next year but in the following years.

Hope he is still around at pick 15 but I have a feeling that he might be gone.

Is that you Wellsy !Great call.:thumbsu:

Havent seen him play but just saw his youtube video;

Just back from Schoolies.

I'm wrapped, stoked, ecstatic whatever you want to call it that we picked up Mitch Brown.

I am going to pump up my own tyres here. I touted him months ago.

Re: Beats' Phantom Draft, 3 Rounds
Dropped into the Geelong v Sandy Dragons match on the way to see the mighty Cats. Only saw 2 and a half qtrs but in that time Watts was very dangerous up forward playing deep and then went onto the ball and struggled a bit. Vickery played forward also and moves really well for a big guy. He may go higher than Watts.

Another forward Mitch Brown was the pick of the bunch. He played up the ground and presented well. I saw him play a school game earlier in the year against ACK and rated him then, but he impressed me even more yesterday with his poise and composure under pressure. He has a bit of James Hird about him.

I hope our recruiting guru Wellsy was on hand as i wouldn't mind him with our first pick. I hope he lasts that long

I saw him absolutely dominate a school game early in the year.

He needs time to develope physically but imo he could become the best player to come out of this draft.

Great pick Wellsy.
