Mobile Theme Upgrade - July 2014

BigFooty now has a dedicated skin for mobile users.

Our moderators have all had access to the theme for a few weeks now and have given it the thumbs up as a big improvement over the old theme.

One major improvement is the slider menu. This includes all of the most visited options, your team board and your watched boards, plus your account management links. Click the icon in the top left on your mobile device to see the menu.

Our system switches to this theme when you open the site on a small mobile device - iPhone, Android phone, Blackberry, iPod and so on.

You can click the "Desktop Site" link at the bottom to revert to the normal theme for your browsing session.

Tablets will still see the normal BigFooty site, though our next project will be to come up with something that works better for tablet users.

We hope you find this new theme easier to use. We always want to hear from users and improve BigFooty, so please post any questions or feedback below.

New Board

With this theme we're adding this new "Have you seen...?" board.

In here we'll post threads for all changes to the site functionality.

Fair enough. I only really use my phone to post here (daily). Not a huge deal anyway...

Too much space being taken up for the banner IMO. The resolution on the header icons (ie bigfooty, alert/convo button) etc is a tad too big and blurry. Would be nice if you could go straight to 'first unread' on a thread.

All good feedback, however clicking on a thread subject will take you to the first unread.

Couple of suggestions...
If your entry to the site is anywhere outside the home page, the login option is hidden away down the bottom of the page. Would be much better with if it was at the top and easy to find.

A breadcrumb at the bottom of the page would also make it easier to get around.

Any chance of getting the What's New\Recent posts button on the header during threads?

I like it except the ads in posts.

Also when posting a pic the preview doesn't work, only shows the [att] coded [\att] view

I like it. Big improvement and my phone seems happier when I try and change pages too quickly it used shut the browser down and throw a hissy fit. So far so good.

Is there any order to your Watched Forums? Or anyway of changing the order. Seems rather random to me.

Only thing missing is the little dot next to the thread title that shows if you've posted in a thread or not. Otherwise it's great.

At the moment it is probably ordered by when you started watching, I'll see about making it alphabetical. I should also limit it

Love it! It looks better than tapatalk which had a lot of issues. Good work bigfooty!
If there's any negatives with your mobile site just use the desktop site that it takes you to.
It works and it looks fantastic.

The other minor annoyance is having to go to the top of the screen to go back to the previous board from a thread. It's easy enough to do by clicking 'top', but it would be nice if the thread pathway was at the top and bottom like it used to be.
