For those that prefer using the desktop layout is there anyway of making it so it doesn't automatically change back to the mobile layout everytime you re-open the site?

From desktop view, go to your profile and preferences and select Bigfooty Warm. That will only ever give you the desktop version*

*Unless that's been changed recently

Have a read of http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/mobile-theme-only-features-july-2014.1070333/

That hasn't changed, but nor will it achieve what is requested. All BigFooty Warm does is stop the normal desktop style from being responsive which reacts purely around screen size. The new mobile style is different in that you get a different style applied if the system detects that you are on a mobile device.

When I click the Desktop Site bottun at the bottom of the page the page just refreshes ans stays on the mobile version. Help.
This controlled by a cookie being set that lasts as long as your session lasts. The browser may not be retaining that cookie for whatever reason. If you really dont want the mobile site, go to your account preferences page and choose to suppress mobile site.

Thank you.

Couple of suggestions...
If your entry to the site is anywhere outside the home page, the login option is hidden away down the bottom of the page. Would be much better with if it was at the top and easy to find.
I never really liked it, have changed it now so it is more obvious
A breadcrumb at the bottom of the page would also make it easier to get around.
worthwhile and done

Mobile version is rubbish, posts take forever to go through then you get double and triple posts. Prefer to use desktop version but then again at times it auto goes back to the new mobile version.

Huge improvement. Great work team!

Seeing the posters team is a wonderful addition.

Is there a way ($) to get rid of both the embedded and lower floating adds?

Am I missing something? Why can't I see the toolbar for font settings and emoticons etc when I reply?
To avoid all the problems with JavaScript and lag we default to the plain text editor.

^^ from my computer obviously :) Seriously though, that's a bit sucky..

Is their away to permanently disable the skin? I prefer the Web version, but no matter how many times I click the desktop site, it reverts back the moment I open a new thread or check my alerts.
You could start by reading this thread

Sometimes adds are shown in a post
Right below the name of the poster and above the post text
Other than that, looks much better
Yes that came with the basic skin. We'll probably modify it to show the ads below the post.

The only issue with the ads on the new mobile site is that some of them cover up the links to the desktop site.
Is it possible for you guys to remove these ads from the bottom of the page to somewhere else...?
