If he is offered one he should take it.
There was little force behind it (let's face it, if he'd gone hard Corey Jones would be eating through a straw), however he made contact so doesn't have any real cause for complaint should he cop a week.

Mooney should cut his losses and take the 1 week penalty on the chin instead of contesting and creating more possible hitches for himself.

As funny as it is watching him every week walk the knife's edge he really needs to pull his head in for the teams sake.

Which strike on Jones was he reported for? The one on the wing when he charged at the ball, it took a leg break and he kept running straight and took on Jones..

When he took the mark, Jones comes in late and grabs him and Moons swings the arm to get him off and VERY SOFTLY hits the face.
If it is the latter, then he should contest...was barely worth the reversal of kick as it was, let alone a one match ban.
As someone has said, the Hamill incident is precendent when he gave Scott a decent whack in the face!

The backhander that hit Jones on the jaw close to goal after taking the mark and then he kicked a point when it was taken off him!

The bloke's a head case. Still, so was (is?) Martin Pike and he's had a rather successful AFL career, so there's some hope for Mooney.
