Got idea still got my beanie, but IMO its too complex. Think about the people who cank 100-150k. They would probably struggle to remember and keep a track, and understand the ideas associated with this idea.

But there is only 2 LTI trades.

Once they make them, VS will automatically remove them when a player comes back or if the 8 weeks is up

Unlimited trades per week, but max 20 for year...this would see more onus on wise trading as alot of people would be tempted to get guys like Harding, Tuck etc after gunning it Rd 1, and also trade out Raines, Anthony in Rd 1, which may work for some people, but flipside is you may have burnt 5 trades in Rd 1, and be screwed come second half of season.....more astute coaches would come to the fore.

Its simple, we need squads of 36.

11 Defenders (4 on bench)
10 midfielders (4 on bench
4 ruckman (2 on bench)
11 forwards (4 on bench)

All that with a very little increase in the salary cap.

At worst the teams should be 32, with 1 more bench option in defence and forward line.

Dream Team has been made to be more fun and user friendly...but it is bloody annoying having to wear 0's.

And dont just say "dont pick rookies"....everyone knows the key to been a successful dream teamer is picking the right rookies.

Stillgotmybeanie:

And what if the player you have brought in for the LTI is a cash cow who you want to trade out to make some cash?

OK so rich goes down with a LTI, and i put beams in instead. He then makes me 100k. OR i put geary in for raines, who jets it and i straight swap to fallen hodge (dreaming i know but this is a hypothetical). What happens in 8 weeks when rich/raines returns???

This is a very real senario Lakey91. You have 2 options

1. You use a LTI trade and only get the benefits of their scoring ability and NOT the value they make in monetary terms, if you want to get the value of the price increase you use option 2

2. You use 1 of your 20 trades to buy beams and then you can have the value of his price increase and trade him out when it suits you.

If you want a cash cow, buy the cash cow. The LTI is purely to cover for you instead of getting a 0 for a period of time, not to make money to upgrade.

For instance, if you have Raines, you could use a LTI and get Presti :)eek:) and get 30 - 40 points or you could buy a Petrenko/Suban type of player. If you went with Petrenko, you would pick him knowing that you would NOT profit on his price rise.

You would not be able to trade Raines to Geary as a LTI. A LTI would only be able to be used for a rookie or a sub 140k-150k player. Once you get the LTI, you cannot trade them out. They will be removed automatically by VS when the 8 weeks is up or when your player comes back.

It adds a new dimention to the game and it does happen in real life anyway but it gives you something to think about

how long is long? 4 weeks classified as a LTI? almost 25% of the DT year.

Thats a good point, 8 weeks may be too long, maybe 4 weeks would be ok.

If one of your GUNS get's 3 weeks suspension (im looking at you Luke Hodge), you might want to buy a Rich/Beams type of player and have their 60-80 points per week and be happy when your GUN player returns.

I dont like it. Its too hard. Wouldnt you feel robbed if the player you picked scored outstandingly and went up in price, but then you didnt get anything for it?

Its kind of hard to explain my thoughts.

I still think the part time DTers who look at their team would lost track of this. Would be complicated IMO.

Simple......... You would be screwed! :D

You at least would not have wasted a trade, only used a LTI Trade and then you would be in a position to then use a trade instead of a LTI

If any player gets injured your not going to be happy but at least you wont be as unhappy if you used a LTI and got presti who was a temporary pick anyway who you might have used him for 2 weeks anyway and you might then decide to wait another 2 weeks without trading until your player comes back

If you traded using 1 of your 20 trades and that player you choose gets injured, you will be even more unhappy.

How would you know if it is going to be a long term injury? Would they have to be placed on the LTI list? Otherwise it's a silly idea.

In Ranies' case, it's definitely not classed as a LTI at this point.

DreamTeam is getting easier by the year (not saying I'm pulling off massive scores to start the year - 1722) but the cap is too big now. Who needs more trades? You have 2 subs for each line.. if you can't cover them then WTF?!

The LTI could be used at your discretion. You only have 2 to use and would carry a maximum life of 4 weeks.

The LTI trade is only in fantasy, no offical ruleing needed. It could be used to cover suspention or injury that you do not want to wait for

EG

Ablett gets rubbed out for 2 weeks.

You use a LTI trade and pick up Rich.

You only use Rich for 2 weeks, when Ablett comes back, Rich is gone.

You only have the option to do this twice and it could be used in a variety of ways.

It could be used stratigicaly or to cover for injury/suspension.

Once you get your head around it, it could be quite interesting
