* 50 confirmed dead. One gunman, ultranationalist white supremacist Brenton Tarrant who livestreamed himself opening fire at the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch posted a manifesto online addressing his reasons for the attack declaring representation of all white people.

People in central Christchurch have been told to stay indoors after gunmen reportedly opened fire at two mosques and the main hospital in Christchurch.

Sources say nine people have been confirmed dead.

Dozens feared killed..

A dead body has been seen lying near Al Noor Mosque in central Christchurch and a second gunman has been seen near Linwood Masjid mosque. One of the gunmen filmed as he shot victims.

One of the gunmen is believed to be an Australian who has written a 37-page manifesto declaring his intentions.

There are reports of a third active shooting unfolding outside Christchurch Hospital.
