Bloc Party's in particular.

I swear to god if they go even further away from "Silent Alarm" and closer towards pure dance music..

Well I'll still get it, but I won't be happy.
The thing is, Silent Alarm was so heavily influenced by dance music. "She's Hearing Voices", basically one of the only songs remaining from their days as Union (2002-2003ish), was written for clubs. "Banquet" is pretty much the same. I don't care if they dip into dance music. I just want Bloc Party to mean as much to me as they once did.

Saying that, I don't think it'll sound like Intimacy, or even A Weekend in the City. Kele's interview on Radio1 a few days ago hinted at that. "It's going to sound like four guys in a room". Another quote "I'm excited about guitar music again, which I haven't been since Silent Alarm was released". So it's looking good. And I like to think the atrocity that is The Boxer/The Hunter has gotten Kele out of his dance-slump.

Although Kele (and Matt) were serial liars from about 2008 onward...

Just another Australian tour would be nice.

That and another "So Here We Are" or "Tulips".

Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Offspring, Stone Sour, Alter Bridge
Looking forward to all of those, particularly Stone Sour's new album. Add to that list albums from Karnivool, Escape The Fate, Guns N Roses, Three Days Grace & most of all SHINEDOWN and they are the albums I'm really looking forward to this year.

Really?

I thought the lack of success for Chinese Democracy spelt the end of G'n'R? That and the fact it is only Axl left.

Axl will keep putting out "GNR" stuff, even when hes sitting at a nursing home in a wheelchair.

He should have let GNR die when Slash & Duff quit. Then create a new band for the stuff hes putting out now.

Dillinger, can't wait to hear where they go after 'Option Paralysis'.

Also The Bronx, Baroness, Gojira, Meshuggah, Tool, QOTSA, Trash Talk, Black Sabbath and ETID. Should be a good year.

I'm definitely looking forward to Animal Collective, actually. I might be in the minority, but I felt Tomboy was better than any previous Panda Bear album. Obviously Merriweather was pretty well received as well. Eagerly anticipating it.

I don't know, but one I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Tomboy was brilliant and on par with Person Pitch for mine.

Miike Snow - Happy to you. March
Bear in Heaven - I love you, it's cool. April
Grizzly Bear. ???

Wow I can't believe I failed to realize Tool were putting out new material! Hopefully Muse is much better than the very average album they last put out.

Big fan of PJ but their last few albums haven't done much for me.

Slash- Now has Myles Kennedy as full-time singer and second guitarist. Slash is very happy with what they've come up with. Early to mid year

Tool and Muse- Goes without saying ...

Mark Tremonti solo album- Finally hear some solo stuff from the guitarist from Alter Bridge and *cough cough* Creed. I'll get canned for this, but I was into Creed in high school, so I'll see if they've gone back to their My Own Prison days, before they turned to shit. Heard part of a new song and it amazingly sounds pretty good.

Slash, Tool, Tremonti and Muse must buys, with a few others listed in this thread curiosties. Has to be a better year for music than 2011, which was shithouse.

Creeds first album was decent enough. It had a good vibe, but was slightly 'preacher'-istic.
Still, at the time, I thought they might have gone on to bigger and better things.....instead they went to absolute shit.

I can't argue with you. They could have become another Fuel or even Live, but instead went dangerously close to Nickelback territory. The fact Alter Bridge are damn good means one man is almost certainly to blame.

I'm intrigued about No Doubt putting out another album - I thought I'd never see the day. It could be another unexpected gem.

As for Soundgarden, hopefully it's a gem, but I'd rather another really solid solo album. If only Chris produced something else the quality of Euphoria Morning! :(
