Ok

Lets get things straight love them or hate them the top four toughest clubs in the AFL are

Hawks, Bombers, Geelong and North Melbourne.

Anyone who says otherwise is just wishing they could be considered part of this four.

Eagles and Crows will no doubt be in this group in years to come but as relatively new clubs to the comp they just dont have the history of violence, off the ball fisticuffs and gfeneral mans businesss that was part of the great game.

These six clubs attack the ball with more ferocity. They also the most fearless, unforgiving and relentless.

Honourable mentions must go to St kilda dont be fooled by crybaby riewoldt they used to be tough. Not so much at the ball but with the nastiness.

For me Carlton have always been the biggest bunch of whining cry babies and Freo strike me as being very similar.

All apologies to the Dockers who are a great club and may yet account themselves well if given more opportunity.

The rest are proven softer than babies bottom.

There's no Hawforn option? Soniamdisappoint.jpg

if you put the toughest 18 hawks from history in a pit with the same group from port 18 hawks would walk out alive.

POrt run around playing really beautiful football. They struggled to actually win a flag despite finishing on top of the ladder all those times cuz they lack courage. They where never and have never been a team of hard men.

U make lots of nice handballs. Be happy with that.

+1 sympathy vote for Freo before this turns into a Carlton/Saints fest

In the AFL:

Port Adelaide 15 wins, Hawthorn 7 wins
Very tough lot, you are :thumbsu:

When your team plays in 8 frand finals in a row.....(and in the 80's to boot) you may gain an exemption. 22 games hardly constitutes a history of hardness.
Port Adelaide won six flags in a row in the SANFL - 1954-1959 and has been the most feared football club in South Australia for 140 years.

Your mob had one decent decade (the 80s) and that's it.

If I'm not mistaken the SANFL was/still is a second tier comp. I'm sure they were very tough though.

119 reasons for Port...
Oh what a fateful and history defining day it was for them.

Their current situation is still clearly affected by their ultimate cowardness on show that day.
The only thing that saved them from being kicked in the balls was the fact that their arse was exposed first..

Is there a reason you're still talking like your side are the reigning Premiers?

Love the irony in talking about cowards, seeing as this topic comes from your anger in the Rename the Leigh Matthews Trophy thread.

As far as I'm aware, only two clubs played in the 1945 VFL Grand Final affectionately known as The Bloodbath. In fact, Bob Chitty alone makes Carlton's one of the toughest teams historically. The guy chopped off his whole middle finger at work, and played three days later in the 1945 Preliminary Final.

Definitely Hawthorn. The way their 'supporters' fled from the Bay after their clubs Premiership 'defence'(lol) fell to pieces is the most cowardly behavior I've witnessed on the interweb and an accurate reflection of the gutless chicken piss and shit pea-hearted fairies that infest the club.

Is there a reason you're still taking it that way?

TMM72 - thanks for the self-serving thread.

Now there is nothing more cowardly in football than hitting a man from behind. We all know who was the leading exponent of that practice.

Biffinator.
