Both these boys have done exceptionally well in their first games.
Who do you believe has been the most impressive?

I loved Hurleys game, but was blown away by Zaharakis.

PS. Special mention to Quinn for having a red hot dip as well.

Haven't been watching the game but can you give me a run down on Zaharakis' game? He played a blinder for the VFL last week and he may be quite a steal. 3rd rounder, no?

Zaka, his kicking and marking overhead was top class for his age.

Not only that, he run all day and presented very well when he played in the forward 50.

Overall, great by him.

2nd Rounder. Pick 23?

17 kicks
4 H/balls
10 Marks
4 Tackles
7 inside 50's

If you are in DT, he scored about 107.

seems to know how to find the ball. Did not panic. He hopefully can become the midfielder we need.

I wasn't feeling to good through the pre-season and it was hard for me to look at the positives because I didn't think we had any young players that could become stars, but I was blown away with the games from Hurley, Zaka and Quinn.
Great game to all of them and we are still without some key players in McVeigh, Prismall, Laycock and Gumbleton so i'm very excited about the up coming season

I have Hurley just ahead due to the way he shut out his direct opponent and the fact that a full-back with a first game like that is much more rare than a midfielder.

i'm very happy with both but i have to go with hurley
personally i think he had a harder task and he did it exceptionally well (no goals kicked on him, outplayed tredrea)
great work by zaharakis today though, i really hope he gets more game time this year.

Hope they can both keep up the good work. Throw in Quinn, Hocking, Pears and the other boys, and things are looking a bit more positive.

the good thing about this poll is we win either way.
it doesn't really matter who's better it just matters that they're both good.

Hard decision. Both have impressed early. But Zaharakis, just.

Exactly! It's been a long time since we had a debutante getting us talking so much, let alone two or three. :thumbsu:

I hope they can all back it up. I am sure they will back it up!

Look!! I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'd like to say that I am most impressed with both Quinny and Zaraki, These two played with great courage, and they both seemed to think their heads were made of Jarah!! Absolutely no fear, and somehow did some really impressive stuff. Made my day.

I just wonder how the hell someone who has never played AFL footy could play so well in his rookie game. I think Quinny is one great find, and Zaraki has a heart big as that of an ox. Yeah!! made my day!! :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

It's cool, you aren't hijacking the thread. You are right too. I probably should have had an option for Quinn as well. What he has achieved in 5 months is nothing shrt of amazing. He was great. He made a couple of mistakes, but thats ok, he'll keep on learning.

as I said, special mention to him as well. And to Pears who it's easy to forget has only played 7/8 games. Not to mention Daniher, who I thought played a good game today. And Hocking, who is helping Jobe in and under the packs and really finding his feet in AFL. And Skipworth, who is a very steadying influence and a very smart player.

Hope they can both keep up the good work. Throw in Quinn, Hocking, Pears and the other boys, and things are looking a bit more positive.

Kudos to Adrian Dodoro and his merry men, really starting to silence their critics. There is no doubt we have drafted some very talented players over the past 3-4 years, it is now up to them to maximise their potential. Winderlich is a prime example, really coming into his own after 6 seasons. Now, if only the penny dropped with Neagle and Gumbleton ...

I don't want the penny to drop with Gumby. He will probably injure his back bending to pick it up. :D

also looking forward to our number 39 draft pick to get a run this year

God damn i feel so out of the loop right now, i wasn't able to switch on the game until half way through the 4th and have missed something special it seems. Checked foxtel for replay times and looks like they are showing pretty much every game a few times in the next few days and will finally get to the Ess v Freo game on wednesday. This is gonna be an epic wait.
