most people only know the hits, but fans will tell you their best work never made the fuss that their hit singles did. Take your pick

In that poll I chose 'I've Just Seen A Face'........ALWAYS been one of my favourites!

Others:

I Should Have Known Better
Savoy Truffle
What You're Doing
I Saw Her Standing There
Not A Second Time
And Your Bird Can Sing
You Won't See Me
Any Time At All
Think For Yourself
Dig A Pony
Cry Baby Cry

one beatles song that continually gets overlooked imo as one of their best is definitely happiness is a warm gun.
a close second is i'm only sleeping.
2 of their finest moments imo.

I voted for "if I needed someone" because it's my favourite of all those overlooked songs listed there.

"And your bird can sing" is another good one, but I would nominate "everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey" as their most overlooked great song.

I voted Helter Skelter - but have you noticed Harrison's guitar solo sounds out of place?

"but it's not, i just wrote it like that, and it doesnt really matter what chords i play, what words i say, what time of day it is, as its only a northern song"

see the man had an answer too you from one of his beatle songs without mw having to say anything.

You should really get over the George Harrison thing. Yes, great you're obsessed with him and think he is under rated. But please don't try and force this on others. We know who he is. He has a big stature and if his records were as good as you say, then he would have sold a few more.

Of the above songs I've selected 'Tomorrow Never Knows', but could just have easily nominated 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)'.

I might add that 'Within You Without You' is not underrated in my opinion, I don't rate it at all and don't think anyone else would if it did not appear on the so called 'best album of all time'.

But before you respond Materamagic, below are my choices for some other underrated songs by the Fab Four, including one by your man.

Cheers,

There's A Place
I Call Your Name
The Word
In My Life
Mother Nature's Son
Cry Baby Cry
Old Brown Shoe
Across the Universe
The Two of Us

I agree, I like the lyrics, but the song itself leaves me cold.

Add those to my list too!

I voted for 'For no one' from that list as it's probably my favourite Beatles song, or at least top 5 anyway. Some others I think don't get the credit they deserve:

Rocky Racoon
Please Mr Postman
I Will
Your Mother Should Know
It's Only Love
Don't Pass me by
Act Naturally
In fact, anything Ringo wrote or sung
Yes it is
Magical Mystery Tour
The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
Polythene Pam

ANOTHER I forgot! Actually, from the same album I'd nominate 'Blue Jay Way'. Has often been voted as one of the most boring Beatles songs ever but I really like it!

Hard to pick just one from that list, I've always loved She Said, She Said, I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Julia. I agree about Within You, Without You though, it's one of the few songs I'm happy to skip when listening to Beatle's CDs.

Some more:
- Anna (Go To Him)
- A Taste of Honey
- Things We Said Today
- It's Only Love
- I'll Be Back
- Good Morning Good Morning
- Long, Long, Long
- You Never Give Me Your Money
- Golden Slumbers
- Rain

if there was a 100 option poll there would still be people giving dozens of songs that i missed, i know there are almost 200 :D

Here Comes The Sun is one of my favourites and I didn't consider it as an overlooked song, because most people talk about it when they talk about the brilliance of the beatles and georges contributions to them.

Surely it could of been a hit but then what about Something and Come Together? Which one of those would you forgo?

I'd choose 'Here Comes The Sun' over 'Come Together', they're both good songs but I think 'Sun' is better.

Out of the List i picked Dear Prudence, over She's leaving home.

If you had've put being for the Benefit of Mr Kite, or You Know My Name (look up the number) then I wouldve voted for one of them.

like i said the mixed and varied responses indicates how so many beatles songs are liked and respected. there are only 16 options for a poll and it just hammers the legendary status of the beatles home, innit?

Another one is Your Gonna Loose That Girl:D

Helter Skelter is my favourite Beatles song, but Siouxsie and the Banshees' version blows it away.

if your following glastonbury expect paul mccartney to perform his primal rocker

Helter Skelter is an awesome song, but I definitely wouldn't call it under-rated. I think Sexy Sady (sp?) is a very good under-rated song.
