hey i like the soundtrack of 'the dukes of hazzard' movie. anyway what are some other good ones? :thumbsu: 'back to the future' is good, 'waterboy' is good...

anyway there is a song in the movie 'ace ventura' but i dont know what its called and i cant download it. it has great guitar work with a wah pedal. anyone got any details of it?

wat are your favourite soundtracks aswell?

Movie soundtrack music is one of my favourite genres. But definitely not the soundtracks that are just a collection of the hits of the day. Actual 'composed' soundtracks. Some of the best, IMO....

Blade Runner
Titanic
LOTR
Superman
Rocky
Star Wars
Saving Private Ryan

Singles is well up there, perfectly timed to make the most of the "Seattle sound".
An Aussie film, Idiot Box is another absolute cracker. So is Dogs in Space.

Yeah same here :thumbsu:

some of my favourites (for the score, not songs)...

Requiem For A Dream
Suspiria
Edward Scissorhands
Dead Man
Last of the Mohicans
Koyaanisqatsi
Blade Runner
Dune
Der Todesking
LOTR

also listened to a bit of The Fountain soundtrack recently which sounds pretty cool - by Clint Mansell and Kronos Quartet (who both did Requiem for a Dream) but also with Mogwai.

for song soundtracks, I don't know many, but these are all good I reckon...

The Crow
Judgment Night (Slayer & Ice-T, Sonic Youth & Cypress Hill, Faith No More & Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., Helmet & House of Pain etc :thumbsu:)
Demon Knight (Filter - Hey Man Nice Shot, Pantera - Cemetary Gates, plus Megadeth, Sepultura, Rollins, Melvins, Ministry, Machine Head :thumbsu:)
Reservoir Dogs
Forrest Gump
Donnie Darko

Not that I have seen the movie in years but i always remember the music in Singles was pretty damn good. I recall Pearl Jam had a bit to do with that movie.

From memory Pump Up the Volume was good.

Can't remember the name of the movie but the one where Sean Penn is on death row and Susan Sarrandon is a nun. It was a crap movie but I really liked the music throughout. I've only seen it once though as it was a crap movie trying to make the viewer feel sorry for a low life who r*ped a girl. The music was a highlight though.

Hehe the Ace Ventura sountrack is pretty cool, if only because it has some Cannibal Corpse tunes in it :D

Paris Texas (Ry Cooder)
The Mission (or any film with Ennio Morricone in charge of the chunes)
Taxi Driver (Bernard Herrmann)

As far as compilation soundtracks go, try "Kill Bill" and "Natural Born Killers"

Not sure, but it might be "Power of Suggestion" by Stevie Stevens.

He played guitar for alot of different artists over the years.

Do you know where/how to get the Dune soundtrack??? I love the movie, and the music. I've looked for it everywhere, but in vain.....

Dances with Wolves and THe Matrix are both pretty good "composed" soundtracks. Interesting about the Star Wars OST Jarryd, might give it a go because it's got an awesome title song.

A Night at the Roxbury is a great 'popular' soundtrack.

I have a few soundtracks in my collection.

American Pie 1, 2, and 3, Be Cool, Cruel Intentions, Dirty Deeds, Elektra
Fahrenheit 9/11, Fantastic 4, Garage Days, Garden State, Gladiator, Gone In 60 Seconds, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Lord Of The Rings (All 3), Lost In Translation, The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded, Million Dollar Hotel, One Perfect Day, Open Water, Phantom Of The Opera, The Punisher, Spider-Man 1 & 2.

My favourites are Cruel Intentions, Garden State, Gone In 60 Seconds and The Matrix as well as the LOTR collection.

The Last Action Hero.

If only for the fact that it has 2 Alice in Chains songs that at the time of release were exclusive to the soundtrack. 1 has since appeared on a "Best of...".
What the Hell Have I
A Little Bitter.

It also contains an absolute ripping song from Anthrax which is 1 of the first they recorded with John Bush.
Poison my Eyes.

Other very good tracks include:
Megadeth - Angry Again
Cypress Hill - ******** the Hammer
Fishbone - Swim
Dream On - Aerosmith

Cruel Intentions is fairly good. Track One 'Every You Every Me' edging out 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' for the best song on the soundtrack imo.

Jerry Maguire which I've been meaning to purchase for a while has some pretty decent songs on it. 'Free Falling' (or whatever it's called) is what it's about whenever I'm in my car and that comes on the radio I act like Jerry. Makes you feel pretty sick too. :thumbsu:

Note - steering wheel must be tapped and song must be sung loudly for this to work.

Note 2 - not advisable to do such on a busy freeway. (somewhat ironically)
