Placeholder is your temporary seat allocation which you can change. However, I like.most others have no.idea how the seat change process will work and the likelihood of getting better seats seems low. It has to be dependent on others moving, in the right size groups. Meaning the placeholder seats are probably going to be the seats you have to take because options are limited.

First thing in any change project is communication, communication, communication. Message needs to be clear and simple. Don't expect everyone to read through pages of details.

I think that there is much confusion around the transition process. Also, I don't think that people have read the transition documents. And if they have - they have misperceived the process.

The offer you have in front of you now are your placeholder seats - just a placeholder. It doesn't mean that you have to remain in this seats. You have the choice to change your placeholder seats once your seat secure window opens. Your seat secure window opens in accordance with your length of membership.

Frankly, I think that the club has done everything that it said it was going to do with the transition. Unfortunately, we seem to live in a society where the first response, to things we find that do not meet our immediate expectations, is to complain.

I am definitely not having a go at any poster. However, I have read a number of posts that cause me to mutter to myself, '... why don't people just read the %$#@%^& transition document?' It is a clearly laid out document. Insofar as I can ascertain, the club is doing everything that it said it would.

Lastly, in just about every email, document and short of a smoke signal - the club has said that it is not possible to replicate members seating arrangements that they had at Subiaco.

My advice - sit tight - wait for your seat secure window and make the changes to your seats that suit your viewing preferences and your wallet.

We all have much to look forward to in 2018.

Yep I am more than happy to wait until next Friday to see what there is available to better suit my viewing preference. However West Coast have been disingenuous in "there are no comparable seats at the new stadium". Using the Virtual Venue I can put in my Subi Block and Row numbers and hey presto up comes a seat in all most the exact same location as Subi. The only thing not comparable is the price. I have gone from being able to mark a wayward kick, offer the umpire advice, and high 5 players to now being 5 row from the top of the stadium where it will be quicker to arrive by helicopter. This is a quantum leap in no comparable seats concept.

As with all things West Coast they have reduced the seat allocation to a Dollar value exercise, with complete disregard to supporters viewing preference. Although apparently this method is tried and proven for other stadia migrations.

How many pages is the transition document?

"Placeholder" only means something if there is a realistic opportunity to move seats when the window to do so is open.

But assigning all the seats at the same time means there will be little opportunity to move.

A clear stuff up in the procedure used.
Well, based on how it is sitting right now, there are heaps of good seats you could move to, so I'm not sure how the placeholder thing makes any difference at all.

And that number of available seats won't decrease through the process, as the seats people move from will open up. Sure, the quality of available seats will drop off, but that would happen through the process you suggest any way.

We got block 522 row 1. So we have gone from being in the last row in the nose bleeds at Subiaco (with a concrete pole in front us!) to the first row with no ****er in front of us! Very happy, plus not in the sun which was my main concern.

Can't wait for 2018!

"Heaps of good seats left"?

I think you are the first to report that situation.
Many are reporting minimal seats to move to, mostly in single seats.

Disagree Bart - respectfully, have you had a look at what is available currently? It really does reinforce the point that 'placeholder' is exactly that - placeholder. There are a number of reasonable alternatives available at the moment.

E.g. I am in Block 127 Row 22 - good enough. However, there are a number of options available when my seat secure window opens on Thursday (I had a look this morning). If my preferred alternatives are not available on Thursday at 10.00am then it means that someone with longer membership has taken them prior to Thursday. That is fair enough because that is how the process was set up and explained to us.

To be honest I am comfortable with the process as it stands. I have placeholder seats in the group formation I wanted. If, I want to change seats, then that has to be in accordance with what is available after those who have longer membership have had their opportunity. I think it is reasonably simple and I think we should accept that the WCE have managed this complex task reasonably well so far.

sounds like sounda works for the club.

As I was typing my earlier post I thought that supposition would cross more than one mind.

Oh well ... just for the record - I don't work for the WCE (wouldn't mind though). However, have read the documentation and so far the club is doing what they said they would do. From my perspective the current level of criticism directed at the WCE is wholly unwarranted. Just my opinion.

Have you actually looked?

Don't expect everyone to read through pages of details.

I think it is reasonable to point out that the onus is on each member to read the detail. Otherwise, you may well miss an opportunity and you might have to accept the outcome for which only you are responsible.

My last thoughts on the topic. I am not wanting to block up the forum with my comments on this topic.

Roll on 10.00 am Thursday:D Hope everyone ends up where they prefer!

Have you got the link where you can see the available seats larrikin?

Many good seats have been taken but that's because the note holders had their go last week and their window shut this Tuesday. There's still lots left - from my perspective.

Someone posted the link on page 46 of this thread.

You need to log in as group leader to see it

Yep - you're right - let me know what blocks you're interested in (assuming you're not a group leader) and I will do my best to let you know or I will try and paste a screenshot. Happy to help where I can.:D

Block 123 as it stand today for example. Hope my rudimentary IT skills work? Block 123.jpg

No need for screenshot - just after a rough guide into any available seats at ground level between the 50m lines on either side of the ground. Unfortunately our group is 7 people.

When I looked on Thursday night I went through and counted the available seats and there was a little over 300.

I'm sure someone said there's now more opened up, but I can't seem to get back in to check.

Which part of the site do you get to see what’s available? I can see my allocated seats - where do I navigate from there?
