People are saying Laird pinned Neale's arm so there's no case to contest. If they agree that the arm was pinned, there's no way he's getting off. I can't tell from the vision, because it looks like the arm wasn't fully pinned.
There’s no way he pinned the arm. That just didn’t happen it’s clear on the vision.
The AFL im sure will use the potential to cause injury clause though because it’s us.

The Crows say Laird tries to slow momentum of Neale and Laird is a passenger to Neale's momentum for much of the tackle.

The Crows add Neale's right arm is not restrained in any way except for him cradling the football.

That's true, but they basically have to repeat what Carlton said, why do their lawyers constantly get their players off??

Crows' five points:
- Laird tries to slow momentum
- Laird initially passenger to momentum rather than driver
  • Laird brings Neale on top of himself
  • Neale's arms aren't pinned
  • - Neale's head contact with ground is sideways momentum rather than downward.

The Crows also point to Luke Pedlar adding to the momentum during this incident by pushing Neale during the tackle.

Andrew Culshaw (Crows): This tackle cannot properly be described as unreasonable.

LOL

Hey David it's Rory Laird..

I don’t like the Pedlar addition into the argument. Pedlars involvement in the tackle/force onto Neale is 0 at best. He was near the contest but he didn’t do anything in the contest.

And guess what gets trotted out...

Flynn (AFL): What is important is the potential to cause injury ... there can be innocuous contact with the ground that results in concussion.

Buzz words of first 3 months of footy. A bit like hamstring awareness a few years ago.

The Oliver tackle that is in the Laird thread on main board MRP forum has a significant potential to cause injury but he has the Victorian discount.
