Sorry to play amateur psychiatrist but for mine, if you’re beating somebody to death with a hammer… that is the act of an absolute psychopath.

This bloke’s background and whole life needs to be closely studied. There must be something there. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t accept some plain old “loser” or “scumbag” commits an act like this. It’s the work of an absolute animal.
Allegedly…

Stinks of the old if I can’t have you, nobody can!

That and probably not used to being rejected and being that the gossip of the staff room for the next few weeks.

Couldn’t suffer the embarrassment of not having the girl he wanted. So he’s committed this shocking crime and his notoriety will be remembered but he won’t be forced to rot in jail (or be subject to assault etc himself behind bars).

I’d say it’s premeditated (or the maintenance man forgot his hammer in the bathroom).

Possibly then thought oh crap, I’m in deep, deep trouble now and then decided he couldn’t see the punishment through or be subject to the shame brought upon his family. So he’s then chosen the unsophisticated demise of jumping from a cliff.

Sad, sad story.

Narcissists are usually psychopaths yes? That's kinda what I was angling for in my last post..

Not as alarming as I expected.

IMO, to many Aussie blokes, many Dutch males would probably come across as a bit arrogant.
For those of you who have lived in The Netherlands, you'll probably know what I mean.

'... Facebook posts emerged that shed light on the alarming behaviour of Ms James's suspected killer Paul Thijssen when the Netherlands-born 24-year-old sought an Australian visa recently.
...
Facebook posts emerge showing Thijssen bragging about relentlessly hassling Australian authorities every single day for a working holiday visa.

In December 2021, the hockey coach, who is originally from the Netherlands, revealed he had successfully secured a visa in Australia after bombarding the Federal government with daily emails.

'Hi all, I just want to spread some good news,' he wrote in a group dedicated to foreigners living Down Under.

'I applied from Europe for my 2nd 417 WHV last Monday, and got it granted today.

'I emailed the working holiday department every day after I applied, and my guess is that maybe this might've actually helped.

I'm not interested in defending this POS at all, but that article seems to be a pretty desperate clutching of straws there. It's not exactly Richard Pusey's online profile.

Without knowing what he went on to do two years later, you'd just think that post was an attempt to share valuable information to a group of people who might need it.

It's fking ridiculous. I know women are capable of the same thing but it's so skewed towards male offenders it's scary.

I have only sons and only brothers, none who I could ever imagine killing anyone let alone a woman. But it seems for some men rejection is a trigger to kill.

I struggle to believe a lockdown causes you to become a murderer almost two years after the world has opened up and you’ve been working, socialising, able to see family back home, dating etc.

Just another overly self-important f wit that couldn’t deal with rejection.

I dunno man, if you read the comment section on daily Mail every death is attributed to the vaccine.

I acknowledge that Covid was a tough time but it's going to be used as an excuse for many peoples behaviours and problems or a while to come.

Other way around I believe.

All psychopaths are narcissists but not all narcissists are psychopaths.

Although, if you read up on the Dark Triad of personality attributes (Dark triad - Wikipedia) they are on different sides of the triangle... However, I would think most people would consider the main personality traits of the psychopath to be shared by narcissists - selfishness, callousness, remorselessness

He suicide-ed because he murdered her. It was purely to escape from the consequences.

This. And the consequences in Australia for murder are not even that bad. Would of had free rent and food and no bills and been free in 15 years with good behaviour and the age of 36.

Taking someones life isn't considered a serious offence in Australia by the courts, neither is bashing someone. But watch out if you don't wear a seatbelt, drink alcohol on a beach or get caught with powder or pills.

Yeah (duh) of course

Murder and sexual assault sentences have been grossly inadequate for a long time. It's completely frustrating and infuriating to see this time and time again.

True.

That being said. Let’s say he gets out in 15 years. He would be lucky to get a caravan in a caravan park (rental crisis aside). Not many jobs out there for convicted murderers. So unless he lives with his parents or they provide for him, the actual punishment is greater than just the gaol time.

Not excusing the actions and you’d be pressed to find public that believe he should have got less than 20yrs.

Since we can’t talk to him, hopefully there is a note explaining his disgraceful actions and lessons can be learnt going forward.

I get a tad annoyed the media outlets are describing them as being in a relationship or as boyfriend/girlfriend. Like come on.. surely dating is the correct term for that. Gf/bf within five weeks is primary school stuff.

Just pisses me off for some reason

Sorry for all the posts but again another thing that pisses me off. They're speaking up about this behaviour now. When it's too late. If we're going to actually change this culture of violence towards women you need to be speaking up when it's actually happening. No not speaking.. scream and flipping shout if you must. Males and females.

I can swear on my life I've never seen this behaviour from a male staff member but you can bet your ass I'd be going to the principal if I ever did.

Narcissists generally have a very low self esteem.

Assuming this POS was one, it probably wasn’t jail time that worried him, but facing up to everyone else. It’s all about image.

Frankly, I'd suggest a decent media outlet would just ease up a bit on contacting shocked, traumatised students and trawling social media for clues. They talk about him boasting about his relationship, but nothing further (unless I missed it). To be honest, if that's the best evidence of disturbing behaviour that they have, I'd suggest that no-one had any concerns about his behaviour, just that some people considered him arrogant. Show me a sports captain at a school and I'll show you a person that some at the school think is a bit of a tosser. I can pretty much guarantee that if he was sports captain, it's pretty unlikely that "All the boys hated him."

But this is where your message is extremely important: if I had to bet, on the information that's been presented, I think he was probably considered to be pretty normal, no previous concerns about him. A bit cocky, so he probably rubbed a few people the wrong way, but nothing more than that.

And that's the point where the message turns to: what is it going to take for all young men (in particular) to learn to take 'no' for an answer and move the f*** on? Like, you're not the star of the movie who gets the girl in the end if he just keeps trying. She's not keen on you, move on. That's life.

It says he was flirty with young students in his capacity as a staff member at the school. I would say that is incredibly disturbing behaviour
