First to whinge and offer excuses, demand action from league etc if it happens to deni.

Take your fair whack was spoken about at other games around the league before the games were even over. By all accounts a low act. Cop ya whack and move the hell on.

And as going for coaches yelling at players from other sides Deni's most recent past coach is one of the worst EVER for it

I thought a king hit was to the head?

a king-hit or coward-punch, is a punch made without warning, allowing no time for preparation or defense on the part of the recipient. The term is generally reserved for situations where the way in which the punch has been delivered is considered unfair or unethical. In practice, this often includes punches delivered from close-range or behind.

Ok thanks. I hate all acts like that, just hate hits to the head more as of long term serious damage that can be inflicted. I was concerned for that player that it was that, but saying that he is obviously unwell and that's not good.

I won't defend actions like that from
anyone.

I am concerned with the umpiring that things may get out of hand and a player (regardless of where they are from) may get badly injured.

My concern re the coach is along the lines that considering the umpiring issue we (including rams) may need to ensure we try to keep things more controlled where possible.

Umpiring may get worst before better sadly.

They just are not getting the numbers into umpiring so the quality is dropping off. Finley v deni game had one very poor umpire and one good which can make it very frustrating to watch. On a whole I think it's ok but low numbers mean its probably going to continue to slide

Yeah I agree and if its frustrating to watch I imagine it's frustrating for players.

As a mum I've tried to instruct my son that you just have to wear the decisions you stuff up as a player other players stuff up, some more than others, it is exactly the same for umpires. He's probs more controlled than me now, as hard as that is to believe considering my calm demeanor haha.

Is there some common ground between wilty and bk ? I can feel love between arch enemies

Premier: who knows (rumba , Finley, united, ... Barooga ??

League b n f : smith (barooga) Morrison Finley tie. Reid Crowe is ineligable.

Goal kicker; Tyler Jones

Improver: rumba / Nathalia

Biggest surprise: how even comp is

smith to win it by a mile.

Interesting day at Barooga on saturday for sure. Here's my thoughts for what its worth. The Deni boys played better, harder football, for longer than Barooga, simple as that. I was privy to Barooga's pre game coaches speech from the last time these teams met, and it was all about "smashing these blokes every chance you get", and so they did,(especially the 17yr olds:mad:) and came away with a win. This time Deni was more prepared for that type of game, as clipper06 said 'they need to harden up". Well guess what, they did ! As for THE incident, the Deni player reacted face to face to a cheap shot to his back, a far cry from what Hargreaves did.
In an earlier post i asked what people thought of the standard of umpiring this year. I have my own opinion but wanted to get others thoughts before i commented. Firstly i have commended those umps who have done a good job, but if ever a game needed clear precise decision making with authority, then this was one. Neither Deni or Barooga recieved that, and my worry is for those teenage players on the field without the adequate protection good umpires provide. The league has to address this issue. Ive just returned from watching two bottom bendigo league teams play, and the umpiring was great. Even though the standard of game was no better than two higher placed murray teams.
Couldn't help but notice how many good young local lads were running around in the two's for Barooga.

The difference in umpiring in finals has always been obvious. Be great to get it like that year round. Some seem to even not fully understand the basic rules of the game.

Barooga recruit a whole senior side so their reserves are strong when this happens

Umpiring is a real problem, maybe mfl should have its own umpiring panel . One good thing the bendigo football league do is tape every game with more than one camera this would be a good teaching tool for umpires, and could pick up most of those unsavoury incidents. Not sure the standard of player is any better than mfl from what I saw

Good idea

Could be anything, but to be honest never has got himself to elite level of fitness. Can play back ,forward or in midfield in short rotations

Is in the elite players of murray league. 9 goals in a prelim when back most of the year. "Rotations" may be the thing that doesn't agree with his style

He is probably best suited to his fathers position full forward but doesn't have the aerial skills of his old man, but has great handball skills and has great kicking skills.if he could loose 10 kgs his aerials skills would improve for sure

Looking forward to seeing all rumbas firepower on display in that good Spring weather. Can see some massive individual efforts coming
You and me both BK.
The talk going around today is that our finals start this week against Cobram. We'll have a few out but we'll take in a team capable of winning and winning well. Those that are out will have to prove their way back into the side which is a great place to be this time of year. But it's all one week at a time, and we are fully focused on cobram at the moment. #GoRumba
