If no Reserves, what do you do with out of form players and the players who don't make the selected side?

Is it feasible

Can anyone from barooga confirm/deny the signing of brad murray from echuca? Great get if he's onboard!

Re: I

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but tongala's forward stocks will get a boost with the addition of Seymour premiership hero, patty rattray.

Also watched Craig ednie when he played for waratahs up here in Darwin and he was looking super sharp.. Reports are mul coach scoff o'bryan is looking a million bucks and flying on the track, also..

Not sure if he will replace Marsh, Deledio, Souta

They had a committee meeting last night to discuss having another big crises meeting, they are meeting with MFL delegates today to see how running with no Magoo’s works.
Berrigan would have been the last club to run with no 2’s in 2002.

Berrigan joined the PDFL in 2003. Could Tocumwal be next. I was always a fan of a "Murray Valley" 3 tiered promotion-relegation competition. This would cater for the MFL and PDFL clubs. But the current model works well.

Perhaps just make the movement between PDFL and MFL an easy process if clubs need/wish to move.

An administrative nightmare which would see more expenditure afforded to the higher teir and the left overs to the lower teir .
The same reason some have severe reservations about centralised admin hubs .

any news on moama and echuca united on how there travelling, recruits etc.. will be interesting to see moama's kids get alot of game time in 1's after the exit of alot of very handy players, united might have the wood over them this year!!!

Don't know about the kids Buddylove, a bunch of new players have also joined. Quite a few fringe Echuca players followed Maddox over, as well as a couple of others from elsewhere.
Interesting seeing Cam Valentine (Pioneers ruckman) in the clearances as well from Echuca to the Mowers, seeing he'll be in Ballarat for uni.
Not a huge amount of movement at Echuca United, though a big boost to get Dale Reyne back for a dozen games or so. They had a very impressive end to last year, so am expecting them to do pretty well this year.

I also heard that Duane Hueston had left United for a kdl team? Think it was Lanky if memory serves me correctly?? But may have been maybe talk??

I know Lanky made a big offer to Hueston before xmas, but I heard that he wanted to have another year at the Eagles, haven't heard an update on this, though, wouldn't be surprised if he lined up in the kdl this year.

It's an interesting o one with Ednie, don't think he actually got cleared to Mulwala, so technically he's still obviously a pigeon. Obviously he's received a pretty hefty sign on and being so close to the season, I doubt he'd leave scoff in the lurch by going back so close to the start of the season.. Even if he said he wanted to stay at Yarra it'd be a big decision on his behalf. Surely there must be some disclaimer that if you receive a sign-on payment you have to give it back if you don't end up playing there..?

You would think any decent type of bloke would pay it back...but we all probably know of occassions where that hasn't happened. Hopefully he plays there and it isn't an issue

Reported to be staying at Yarra and Joel Smith is to play on, mainly because of the Fevola show, obviously sensing a big chance at a premiership finally.

LOYALTY ... HONOUR ... Does it exist in footy these days? 3 examples affecting MFL Clubs in the last year or 2. There's probably plenty more.
1 - Ednie tells Yarra he's leaving. Agrees to terms with Barooga. Gets the wobbles and gets his dad to ring Barooga from Qld to tell them he's pulling out. Takes the big offer from Mulwala. Huge news and a big signing for the Lions. Gets caught up in the Fev show and renegs on Mul to return to Yarra. Moves down to Melbourne on the weekend while all hell breaking loose.
2 - Hyde and Crapp. Barooga local juniors. Come home on top dollars the last few years. Told Barooga (their local club) they probably won't come back for 2012 unless they sign some good players. Barooga do. Hyde and Crapp then take bigger offer from Cobram. The ultimate sin if you are a Barooga boy is to go to Cobram and it is the same in the reverse.
3 - Cowan gets moved home from Qld by his home club Numurkah for 2010 season at great expense. Numurkah lays on a good package. Doesn't give them much value in 2010 (injuries from memory). Probably owes them for 2011. No - off he goes out to Waaia.
Am I harsh?

Unfortunately you can only get as much Loayalty as you can pay for.

But it's probably better to be that way instead of having a gang or "us vs them" mentality, demanding loyalty and service and swearing off all others, Which would eventually impact public life if that were the case. Some idiot somewhere would take a defection or clearence way to personal and that would lead to an incident somewhere.

End of the day playing football is only a short part of anyones life. Takes up maybe 5 hours a week for the average punter, for maybe 5-10 serious years. Most men will put more time into looking at pr0n in their lifetime..............
Don't ask me what my point is. I kind got started and couldn't finish it. now i can't remember what i was trying to say, but thought it was too good of a post to delete...lol.

maybe some clubs dont care for there juniors just keep buying in the hope of buying a flag

Has worked really well for another nearby major league club. Apparently have won seventeen underage flags in past thirty years, yet their seniors have been bottom three for the past ten, and this year looks no different.

Then again, not every club in Murray League has a population of ten thousand plus either, if thats where you are from.

well murray banks maybe you have not been to deni for awhile but population is under 8,000 and dont forget that 2 aussie rules teams in town as well as a rugby side i live in melb but have friends living up there and visit often i am staggered by the money that many clubs spend on recruits when they have plenty of juniors [cobram echuca !!!!] sure some clubs do have to buy some but the money is a lot more than many clubs in melb

You definitely have a point in regards to the junior player side of things, but in my experience Melbourne based clubs have just as much, if not more money, than country clubs, it's just that it's not as spoken about as much as it is in country circles. Montmorency, bundoora, Heidelberg, Blackburn, Vermont, east burwood, east ringwood, balwyn, greenvale, aberfeldie would all pay as much, if not more than the biggest spending clubs in country footy, which would be albury, yarra, balranald, golden square and echuca..
