Since we will be playing friday night again for PF... is there anyway to keep the surface dry?
Our greatest strength is speed and running power over the ground and the last thing we need is greasy conditions like last friday.
Sydney couldn't have asked for better conditions and we scraped through....dry surface it would have been over at half time.
Hard, fast surface = West Coast domination.

Actually, the greasy conditions didn't seem to affect WCE one ioata.

It took the Swans a long time to adjust to the conditions, bouncing the ball a prime example.

When it rains in Brisbane for major horse races they fly a couple of hellicopters slowly and lowly around the track. Just a thought!

Won't both prelims be played on Saturday in order that both winners get the same amount of rest before the GF??

No, we play Friday night and St Kilda plays on Saturday (probably at night as well) to maximise tv audiences.

can anyone confirm this? Would make me a very happy man if true (well actually, it would just make me slightly less likely to chuck a sickie on saturday night.

They were talking about this on the Footy Show last week (well, actually it was aker having a whinge). I think this year both finals will be played on the saturday.

The AFL will only release formal dates, venue and times after the semi's are decided, If Adelaide win given that they finished first it will probably be on Sat, to give them a full 7 day's break, if Port win maybe on Fri pm. We won't know till the weekend

Come on Mead, you know there's no way you're going to be at work that Saturday; I envisage these scenarios:

1) We're playing Saturday night. Mead pulls a sickie.
2) We win on Friday night. Mead is somewhat ill from the celebration post-game
3) We lose on Friday night. Mead is violently sick from the 12 hour bender post-game.
