Following the release of the 35 minute short film 'runaway', this album promises to be one of the biggest and best releases in the last couple of years.

The two videos I've seen so far (power and runaway in full-length) have been ****ing sensational.

In before:

He's an arseh*le!
I don't like this song, it's overplayed on mainstream radio!
I can only gain erection from indie artists!

One of the best albums I have ever heard, I haven't ever listened to an album so much by one artist in 7 days.

This is a seriously great album, production is amazing. The scale is epic and it just feels so perfect. Kanye West is so far ahead of the rest of the mainstream it's not funny (bar Big Boi).

It really sounds unlike anything I've heard before yet it is unmistakably Kanye. Probably my favourite album of the year.

Actually really want to listen to this.

Every review I've read has been fairly glowing and in fairness I've only really avoided listening because of the reasons listed in the OP.

^^^ Pitchfork (yeah I know... but I'm a fanboy. Come at me.) just dropped a 10 on this. I think the last time they did that was Wilco's Yankee Foxtrot Hotel back in 02.

Personally, I don't want to go overboard yet (at least not after only listening to it for like 3 days), but shit is ****in ridickalus. Even after hearing most of the tracks prior to release, when you hear them all together, everything just goes up a level. Production wise this is pretty much perfect, not a weak track on here. Gorgeous is probably the stand out for me, lyrically that'd have to be close to Kanye's best track of all time, OF ALL TIME.

I don't know if this will overtake Cosmogramma for me as AOTY (again, come at me) because that album to me is just incredible, but this is pretty darn close....

Album is ridiculously good. Best album I've heard in a long, long while.

Standouts for me are Dark Fantasy, Gorgeous, Power, All Of the Lights...**** it, they're all standouts. Favourite tracks are probably Monster and All of the Lights at the moment. Oh and did I mention this album is amazing?

Haven't even read the Pitchfork review yet.

That's pretty forked when you consider they VERY rarely do give tens. The last one was the Pinkerton Deluxe edition I believe.

Genuinely afraid.

My favourite part of the album is those voices he uses during blame game around 2:30, genius :thumbsu:

you getting blackmailed for that white girlllllllll.

Graduation is one of my all time favourite CD's and after 808's I unfortunately thought the best might have been behind the great man.

boy was I wrong.

epic record is epic.

it's amazing.

obviously early days so it still has to tick the longevity boxes etc. but I can seriously see this slotting into my top 5 albums ever.

I'm clearly missing something with this album, did I get a bad version, am I supposed to listen to it upside down or something? It's a good solid album but I wouldn't consider it great.

a 7/10 for me

Monster, Gorgeous and All of the Lights are the faves for me. What an album, it is incredibly ridiculous how good it is.

I'm yet to listen to it, but...

inb4 'I hate it because it's popular and so well-received'.

I'm predicting we will see a similar outcome to inception where people initially orgasmed over it then later people couldn't help but be put off by how well-received it was.

This is not aimed at a post like Omit's where he still enjoys the album, but more so at posts that say 'meh 3/10'. If someone genuinely doesn't like the album then fair enough, but a point to consider is that these people may genuinely feel let down because of this large hype upon album release building up expectations.

How fair do you think it is to allow hype to influence your opinion?

I always make it a point to not bar up too quickly, so I'm not expecting the greatest album ever created, but I am expecting something solid.

Furthermore, you have the inevitable people whose opinion of the album will dwindle once the singles get repeatedly played on radio.

This. Will be flogging this on Facebook over the next few days, as I'll get laughs out of "Better than p!nk's? No way..." and other such hilarious response. Dark Fantasy is an amazing track, but I haven't got tired of any after 5+ listens...

I got mine from Sanity in Albury, work over there. I didn't think you'd be that hard pressed to find a copy? Yeah, small world. Haha

I haven't looked anywhere yet, just wanted to make sure it'd be there when I went.

already got it on the pod but i'll be forking out for an actual copy of the CD as well:thumbsu:
