Somewhere, Probably
Other Teams
Boston Celtics, ATP
I don't know which board to put this on so if this doesn't belong here feel free to move it mods.

Anyways because I was not satisfied with WW's own ratings (blah blah excuses they were made last year) and because i'm a nerd and have too much time on my hands to do anything important, I will redo every player rating from every club and list them in posts on this thread.

This post will include Adelaide's list so feel free to comment on them for the time being. It's currently very early morning by the time I post this so the rest of the teams should be uploaded in a 12-24 hour span.

I'm not sure exactly what the parameters are (is it based on basic statistics, fancy statistics or a subjective assessment of quality?) but some ratings look a bit low - particularly Rory Laird and Sam Jacobs.

I just want to say quantifying a players skill level by an arbitrary number out of 100 is completely simplistic, flawed and pretty dull tbh. I know thats on the producers of the game but surely a more indepth look into stats like they do on the Football Manager is the best way to go... stats out of 20 for certain areas of skill (Passing - 14, Heading - 12, Pace - 8 etc etc) take a look at this on google images if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

It should be possible to produce a composite rating from the specific ratings, but that's more like a guide than the number the game will be using.

I think you're slightly overrating the crows.

Pretty sure NBA 2K also uses numbers for Shooting, Rebounding, Defense, Ballhandling etc. to come up with ratings. If I had a LOT of time I could go more specific about their kicking accuracy, view stoppage work, strength, speed and marking etc. and rate each player against each other we could have more accurate numbers but I might as well be making the game if I was. :p

Poor Scott Thompson.

Averaged 24 disposals, 6 clearances and 7 tackles in 2016 and only worth 72.

Wouldn't get a game at any other club?

Not really. Has fallen off a cliff this year. Is struggling in the SANFL and doesn't look like getting a game any time soon.

While it's hard to gauge without comparing our list with other teams, a few thoughts:

Mackay too high: 77 > 74
Lever too low: 77 > 79
Laird too low: 82 > 86
Smith a bit low, but not much.
Brad Crouch probably too low but understandable considering the amount of footy he's missed.

Hard to fall off a cliff when you're injured.
And being injured should not affect your rating.

His rating should fall progressively over the year but as of January 1 he was still a pretty good footballer.

He isn't injured though. As I said, he's back playing poor football in the SANFL.

Do you think he is a better player than Brad Crouch for example? Because Brad was rushed back into the team after only one SANFL game when Thommo wasn't.

Thompson has been a great servant of our club, but at 34 he is cooked. The only way he makes it back into the team is if we are ravaged by injuries or the club wants to honour him with a farewell match. But I doubt it.

Must have been looking at the other guys post. Still, not much of a gap between a top 4 team and bottom 4
Both teams have players above 85 and both have rookies 70 and under, im guessing the gap is made from players between 70 and 85 and how many are closer to 85 than the low 70's which Brisbane have a lot of. So it may seem a small difference but it's a huge gap between how many are solid 22 and those that are depth.

He isn't injured though. As I said, he's back playing poor football in the SANFL.

He's played 1 SANFL game after coming back from an adductor injury. He had a shoulder injury before that. You don't rush back a 34 year old straight into AFL.

In that 1 game he was named in the best players with 21 touches (team high), 6 tackles and 5 clearances.

I would rather have him in my team than Kyle Cheney (also rated 72).
