No need to worry about the ground condition. The grounds are checked a few times by the AFL turf specialist to make sure they are up to scratch and they are strict from what I can see. We've got an AFL Challenge game up here in MIldura in the coming few weeks and the AFL bloke has already checked the oval out a couple of times.

I would like to see a few young players get a hit out. It was good to see CJ show a fair bit along with Hughes and Buckley. I think CJ should play the whole year... looked quite good the oter night.

Herald Sun today said McLean is injured but they expect him to recover within 2 weeks.

Bartram and Sylvia are a little way off too, so they mentioned also.

From what I can remember Beamer, Flash and White were all named in the 28 man squad.
I don't think Neita was named IIRC.

Apart from the obvious debuts of our youngsters, i am also looking forward to how Sellar performs. There was a lot of talk pre-draft that we should pick him up, so i will be watching with interest. Would love to see Sellar and Frawley go head to head.

It was near the end of the Age sports section. White, Pettard, Whelan and Beamer were noticable ins with Neitz out. Didn't look too closely.

Yeh, Beamer and Whelan were the ins I took most notice of.

I'm dissapointed to see Daniel Hayes isnt playing in this match, it might have just been a coincedence but his name was called out a few times during the brief commentary we saw from our practice match at the dome. I was hoping he could show a bit of a davey like nab cup performance and play a few games this year.
Was he any good two weeks ago at the dome? Should he have a go this week?

And on a different sunject i cant understand why are cam bruce and robba playing this week, they are way too good to risk and are already in form. Save the game time for Yze and Miller, we know they need it.
