so location round would be like the carlton jumper?

Well it could be that, or just something that represents your location (colours {if different to your normal colour scheme}, landmarks, personalities).

I could for example choose to do a yellow and black design for Wellington as that is their traditional sporting colours, or use Maori designs to represent New Zealand. In fact this former heritage uniform from the Makos would work for a location theme (was designed under the idea of Wellington heritage):

so if i wanted i could make it into an indigenous jumper??

Bit harder to do for an Australian team (Wellington had the advantage as it was only one of two teams in New Zealand). I would say it would have to be very location specific indigenous, but E92_ would be able to confirm this.

Unless you're indigenous yourself Lynton then that's a slippery slope to be going down. There's a pretty good reason why Indigenous Round wasn't one of the options in the poll.

what does a slippery slope mean anyway i have thought of another idea connecting all towns in Gippsland

To be honest I had an indigenous design on my home jumpers for the past two seasons and I felt pretty guilty. As far as I'm aware I have no indigenous heritage, and even though I carefully studied the symbols and techniques to achieve the art, it felt like I was appropriating the culture of the Australian Indigenous people. I think that if an indigenous round as such was to manifest, that idea of cultural appropriation would certainly come up with other designs and in the minds of other designers who are non- indigenous, which is the main reason the Pirates will be using other imagery to honor their indigenous heritage in the coming seasons.

The Wellington Makos want your help

Every year the Wellington Makos are required to create an alternate uniform for the NAFL, but due to our normal home and clash designs we are rarely required to wear it. This became evident last season when the Makos made a request to the NAFL organisation, that we wear the alternate at least once, which was approved by the league.

This year we want to do something different and want your help. As it will be again likely that we will have to ask for our alternate to again be worn once, we have partnered with two separate groups to design unique uniforms that are well outside the traditional colour scheme for the Makos. The two groups have submitted these designs to us and now we need to decide which will be our 2017-18 alternate uniform. This is where we want your help, below we have an image showing the two predominant colours for the designs and we want you to vote on the options to determine which one we will wear during the upcoming season.

If you wish to participate, please submit your vote (either 1 or 2) via PM to the Makos owner ( craegus ). We will announce the winner closer to the season start.

Thank you for your time, and GO MAKOS!!!
