The big one is here.

This year, NAFL will be bigger and better than ever, with some big changes to the competition. No more Reserves league, no limit on participants, meaning anyone and everyone can enter this year's competition for the chance to put their name in the record books.

This season, you may enter up to two teams, to be located within Australia or New Zealand. It would be ideal to have a spread of locations, as opposed to having 10 Perth or Melbourne teams, so I would highly recommend looking at last season's competitions to see where the openings are. I will allow overlap with locations, in particular high population areas, however bids will be accepted or denied at my discretion, with preference in locations and mascots/team names given to existing or former NAFL clubs.

In regards to team names, I understand there is some overlap between existing NAFL franchises, however new teams are expected to come up with new identities.

The structure of the competition is yet to be finalised and will be determined once numbers have become clearer, however the current goal is a round robin/staggered knockout competition, which will see 75% of teams make it to the finals. The groups will likely be drawn from seeded pools, based on designer skill and experience (this will not be public, we're not opening that can of worms...)

Once your bid has been accepted and you've finished your entry, to submit, please PM your images to me in a message entitled "NAFL 2020 Entry: [teamname]" and include the direct links to your images wrapped with the code tags, ideally uploaded via Imgur or Flickr, at an appropriate size (max size should really be 1920 x 1080, but yeah, no 4K/8K PNG files please!)

I will await sjohnson who has had the South Perth Swans for ages before I allow this bid, unless you’re happy to change the nickname to something that is available - I’d look at the NAFL and NAFL Reserves season hubs from 2019.

I see no reason why they can’t be aligned with the universities, however this is supposed to be in theory a professional sports league so at best you’d be looking at them as sponsors.

You wouldn’t just be able to plaster the University logo as your team logo and the branding as the guernsey, if that makes sense.

Let me know your thoughts, if that’s fine then happy to accept the bids but they would have to be standalone from the universities.
