Have you ever watched football in your life? These players are greats.

There were many who were unlucky to make my list, such as:
- Kent Kingsley, the greatest "lead mark goal" player I have ever seen
- Russell Robertson, the dominant aerialist of his era
- Leigh Matthews, the elite of his time
- Darren Gaspar, the padlock, would stop opponents like no other
- Travis Johnstone, beautiful user of the ball either side of his body
- Peter Daicos, the macedonian marvel
- Shane Woewoedin, brownlow medallist. enough said.
- Troy Cook, Indigenous star, magical

Well played. :D

Chris Judd (the amount of time i've spent watching judd highlights on youtube is ridiculous).

Michael Voss

James Hird

Simon Black

Gary Ablett Junior

My top 10 of all time

1) Warren Tredrea - Uncompromising
2) Dermott Brereton - 2nd greatest CHF of all time no question
3) Peter Bell - The best midfielder to ever grace the game
4) Lance Whitnall - Was there a more skilled player of his size?
5) Peter "Spida" Everitt - The premier tap ruckman of all time
6) Mal Michael - Toughest defender of all time, could play small or tall
7) Anthony Stevens - greatest captain and leader. period.
8) Austin "Aussie" Jones - elite ball winning wingman, best ever bar none
9) James Clement - Mr Lock n Load. Lock down his opponent, load up on defensive rebound
10) Richard "Richie" Van Den Berg - In my opinion was better than crawford. Had the ball on a string his whole career.

Thoughts?

I laughed a lot....for about 3-5 minutes.

Thank you.

;):)

I love the subtlety of this. A brilliantly crafted list. Clearly taking the piss but done in such a clever way that idiots such as Grifflich actually believed it was legit. This is excellent, should go down in the BigFooty annals of history as comedy genious.

Just artful enough to get the fish interested...their sixth sense is telling them something's not quite right, but the Leigh Matthews Cerificate of Authenticity seals the deal!

Only been watching since the late 90's so the 5 best in my time
1- Buckley
2- Hird
3- Lockett
4- Voss
5- GAJ

(Log in to remove this ad.)

1.Ablett Snr
2.Carey
3.Scarlett
4.Ablett jnr
5.One of Buckley/Hird/Voss

Seems Geelong bias i know, But all 3 Geelong players i chose are the best players i've seen play in their position. Carey was a Freak, and couldnt split Buckley/Hird or Voss.

Since i've been watching football( which isn't really that long compared to many on here)

Matthew Lloyd
Gary Ablett Jnr
Matthew Scarlett
Ben Cousins
Michael Voss

Could've listed 5 midfielders tbh.

I can only remember from 2000 onwards so here's my top 10 (no order)

Gary Ablett jr-possibly the greatest ever
Chris judd-when at his prime, unstoppable. Double brownlow medalist
Ben cousins-I just loved the way he played footy
Matthew Lloyd-powerful FF
Matthew Richardson-a bit biased but great player
Nathan Buckley-tough amazing mid
James Hird-great player
Lance Franklin-amazing dynamic player
Daniel Kerr-formed a premier midfield with judd and cousins
Simon Black-great brownlow medalist

Most of the players have an advantage of playing all the way through the 2000's but I'm sure Cotchin, Dangerfield and others will be there by the end of there careers

You don't have to be biased to put Richo in there. 800 goals, 282 games, most goals at the MCG by any player, 3rd in the brownlow when he was 32, one of the most loved players ever. The only thing that holds him back is lack of finals. If he didn't miss those 90ish games with injury he would have played over 350 games and kicked over 1000 goals, and thats still with his inaccurate goal kicking!
