Apparently crows have a big offer in front of him
Wasn't NWM a member of Port's NGA? Surely he would've grown up wanting to follow in the footsteps of his uncle Gav and play for Port. You'd think Port would be the front runners to get him. Particularly if they play finals this year.

Was in the Crows NGA.

Not so sure. Bergman has been a solid defender. He gives off Birchall vibes for mine.
I think you are comparing apples to oranges here.

Yep, Bergman is a solid defender and a good player, but Wanganeen-Milera is already a much more damaging footballer despite being in the system an extra two years.

I think on his own NWM would be worth a top ten pick, while Bergman is probably closer to an early second rounder, so Port would have to still find something very good to give along with Bergman in my opinion.

I agree NWM has more value, but it’s not by much.

Jesus, is there any need to carry on like this because someone has a different opinion on trade value?

How much do you think Miles Bergman would be worth in a trade?
I bet you ask any club's supporters (other than port or st kilda's) who they would rather have out of NWM or Bergman and i'd be shocked if it wasn't almost universal NWM was the player they preferred. Not slinging off at bergman who is good, but NWM is another level.

With how our clubs list is tracking, it would not shock me to see us make a big play for him this year as his speed and attacking game would really suit our defensive set up.

Port will rebuild under Carr, not sure its that enticing for NWM.

Adelaide and Port going in different directions on the ladder.

Port will probably be okay with Butters leaving to speed up their rebuild.

Butters dogs bound.
Port has a young list already, younger on average than Adelaide. They have rebuilt on the run.

Is it possible that he spent time in both academies?
SA players actually go back and forth between the clubs in junior ages.

In 2024 Crows U/14 Academy side: Central District, Glenelg, North Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens.

U/16 Academy Sides: Players from Sturt, Glenelg, North Adelaide and Central District lined up for the Crows while players from South Adelaide, West Adelaide, Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens represented the Power.

Fair enough, what do you think each of their value would be?
Is NWM still contracted? Like 2 years left after this one?

If you are demanding a couple of 1st rounders? That is a lot but unlikely.

Think Brad Hill trade in 2019 as a similar compo.

I didn't mind what Freo got in the end for Brad Hill at the end of 2019

On what basis?

He’s a dime a dozen half back/wingman that averages 15 touches a game in the easiest role in football. Tried and failed when tried in the middle too.

Jordan Dawson was 5 x the footballer, had just finished right up there in Sydney’s B&F and went for a future 1st that was expected to be end of rnd 1.

Early R2 might be generous for Bergman these days, he’s nothing special.

He’s had what 5-10 coaches votes in the last 30 games? Probably confused with JHF like the umpires…

What was Duursma traded for?

OK.

Give me your description of him?
Although he has played those roles before

He's settled as more of a 3rd tall defender, similar to Stewart/Michalhaney/Battle who can play on smaller/larger opponents. He's not a half back flanker, nor a wingman. So quoting his disposal count is just a poor reflection of his ability

He has never been trialled as a midfielder, as far as I'm aware

I don't think Bergman and NWM are comparable players in terms of role, the only reason they are being compared is because they are both rumoured to be leaving clubs that might be interested the other player.
